As Draco and Harry made their way to the tower that housed the Gryffindors, they saw two familiar faces walking towards the Great Hall.
"Oh no..." Draco muttered to himself.
"Well, what do we have here, Crabe?" A largely built boy asked his equally built friend.
"I don't know, Goyle." Crabe said, looking at Draco with disgust. "What do we have here?"
"Looks like someone who forgot where their loyalties lie." Goyle smiled smugly at Draco. He pretended to notice Harry for the first time "And look who's with him."
"His little boyfriend. How precious."
"So, Draco, how does it feel to be in a losing House with mudbloods and halfbloods? Oh, and weasels of course."
"Heard Pansy and Blaise decided to join you." Crabe sneered.
"That's just like them, isn't it?" Goyle wondered. "To follow your lead like lost dogs."
"Um....Goyle?" Crabe asked. "You do realize that we used to follow his lead too, right?"
"Well, yeah." Goyle replied. "But at least we have enough brains to not betray Slytherin."
"Shut up!" Draco yelled at them, finally snapping. "Just shut up! Slytherin can't even begin to compare to Gryffindor! And not all the students in it are horrible! They are welcoming and kind and way better than any Slytherin! If you two can't see that, you're as dumb as ever! Come on, Harry! Let's go!" He grabbed Harry's hand and led him back to Gryffindor tower, leaving Crabe and Goyle stunned.
"I can't believe I was ever friends with those two." Draco seethed with tears in his eyes, walking into the Gryffindor common room.
"Draco, hey, look at me." Harry told him.
"I'm sorry, I just, I hate them." Draco admitted. "And I hate that I was just like them."
"Hey, you listen to me." Harry said. "It doesn't matter how you were back then. What matters is who you are now. Alright?"
Draco nodded.
"Good. Now lets get to our room. I think some sleep will do us some good."
And with that, Harry led Draco back to the dorms.
