Alison's POV
Monday morning. Great. Absolutely wonderful. I simply can't wait for another week of the same old same old. Well maybe, not the same old now that Emily and I are officially dating. I'm still in shock from this past weekend. Everything seems so...surreal? I never expected Emily to do that for me because she was always the shy one between the two of us.
Walking down the halls, I see a group of people crowded around the main hall. What's going on? I hear a whole bunch of voices and I push through the crowd to see what's going on.
"Awww! That's so cute!"
"Are they dating?"
"Kiss kiss kiss kiss!"
Right in front of me stands Ben and Emily, who is holding a bouquet of roses while blushing insanely. I look down at my feet and the letters "HC?" are spelled out with about 30 swimming goggles. Emily doesn't even notice my presence as she continues to thank Ben. I know that I'm going to homecoming with Noel, but I can't help but feel extremely jealous that Emily is going with someone too. Ugh, I guess I'm just greedy and selfish. I look up and Emily's eyes catch mine. A wave of nervousness flashes over her face, before quickly being replaced by a soft smile.
Five minutes later, after the crowd has dispersed, Emily walks up to my locker. I know I shouldn't still feel jealous, but I do.
"Hey, how was your weekend?" Emily asks. Is she just gonna act like nothing happened this morning at all?
"It was fine." I reply curtly.
"Just fine?" Emily looks disappointed.
"Yeah." I close my locker door and walk to English. Why did Emily look so disappointed when I said my weekend was just fine? Does she really care all that much if I don't have a super fun weekend?
Wait... Shit. This past weekend was the weekend Emily asked me out and we went to the kissing rock. I was so occupied in my own jealousy world that I didn't even bother to think for a split second. I turn around and quickly scan the halls, looking for Emily. No luck. I sigh regretfully, and plop down in my seat.
"Hey Ali! How was your weekend?" Aria's voice chirps up from behind me. Is this dejavu from this morning with Emily or what?
"It was...good." I reply with the most convincing smile I can force.
"Did anything happen?" Aria asks, as if she's trying to get an answer out of me.
"If you're asking whether or not Emily and I are dating now, it's yes." I let out a small laugh.
Aria claps her hands and squeals happily.
"Thank you for helping her, by the way." I add on.
"Psh it's nothing. Though had I not been there, it probably would have taken Emily a lot more time to concentrate." Aria rolls her eyes while giggling.
"What do you mean?" I ask, confused.
"I uh never mind I don't know what I'm saying." Aria stutters.
"You're terrible at lying. What is it, Aria?"
"It's really nothing. Emily would kill me if sh--" Aria stops midsentence before realizing that she shouldn't have started that sentence.
"Aria you have five seconds to tell me what's going on right now." I demand.
"I...Okay but please don't get mad." Aria pleads.
"I'm not guaranteeing it, but let's hear it."
"Okay well...There was this really um pretty woman working at Pandora and let's just say, Emily thought so too so..."
