The smell: spicy and slightly musky; unfamiliar but delicious. The temperature: warm all around, like I'm lying on a heating pad but it's moving. The sound: thumping beat and whooshing air. My hands were curled together on my belly and I reached up with one to feel the surface under my cheek. T-shirt material stretched over a firm but giving surface.
I snapped my eyes open in disbelief but there I was, lying against the Asshole Adonis I worked with. "What the fuck?" I groaned out, pushing against his chest in an effort to get away but he just gripped me tighter.
"Hold on a sec," he muttered, chills spreading across my skin to have that voice so close to my ear, and I felt him shifting around underneath me. That's when I realized I was curled up in his lap and his hard dick was pressed against my ass.
It may not have been the kindest move, but I was panicking. I gave a wiggle and pressed back hard then braced with my hands (not caring where) to get enough momentum to roll out of his arms and onto my hands and knees and he grunted in pain as I scurried away from him and fell against the opposite wall. "I'll say it again," I said, my voice high pitched and squeaky with shock, "What? The? Fuck?"
"You fell asleep," he said, a little breathlessly as he curled up and grasped his midsection. "I wanted you to be comfortable but there wasn't anyplace so I took one for the team."
If I wasn't already humiliated enough, that hit was out of the park. "Goddamn I hope there's never a next time, but on the slim chance I'm ever within a hundred yards of you again and this happens, just leave me on the fucking ground."
"I'm not going to leave you on the ground, I'm not a douche—"
"I'd rather wake up on the floor in filth than being groped by some stranger—"
"I wasn't groping you and I'm not a stranger—"
"Oh I'm sorry, I should have said being forcibly cuddled with your boner sticking into my back. Is that better?"
"It wasn't— Jesus, I wasn't...I didn't have a boner, that's just my dick, okay?"
"Oh my fucking God! Why am I being punished?" I wasn't talking to him with that last part, I was curled up yanking on my own hair to interrupt the inevitable thoughts that I couldn't— that was just his dick? Not even hard? He's got to be massive! No! Thoughts lead to wants, wants lead to feelings, gotta shut it down NOW.
"You? You're not the one who just got punched in the junk by some psycho bitch— wait...what the fuck do you mean if you're ever within a hundred yards of me? I work ten feet away from you!"
"I'm quitting, that's what. I don't--I can't stay here after all of this, and I don't need the insurance that bad. It's time to go anyway, I didn't plan to stay here this long to begin with," I said, more to myself. More to try convincing myself. When I moved back here I swore it would just be for a year and now I'm pushing five, and it was time.
"This long? You've only been here a month!"
"No, I've been here almost five fucking years and I need to move on. Jesus, why I am I still talking to you?" I started to get up, intent on heading out the door and then really out the door but he moves like a fucking gazelle and was across the room and blocking the door before I was even on my feet.
"What the fuck is going on, Abby? You have one episode around someone who just tries to help you, and you flip out and are going to quit your job and move away? Don't you think that's a bit of an overreaction?"
"It's not just one episode, it's two, back-to-back, because you make me so crazy that I say terrible shit and can't keep my emotions in check. That's not going to get better after this little struggle snuggle we just had, it's only going to get fucking worse, and I can't—" I was upset. My adrenaline was rising, and warning bells were going off in my brain. I needed to get a fucking grip right now or I was going to lose it again. I took three deep breaths, leaning back against the wall, and focused on calming my racing mind and heart. Eyes closed, concentrating on my breathing, I visualized my mind as a tempest-tossed sea and slowly calmed the waves, pushing everything below the surface and letting it sink to the depths. I came out of my trance to discover he was still there, propped on one shoulder against the wall just inches away from me, eyeing me warily. I sometimes forget how tall he is until I'm up close to him. He's over a foot taller than me and when I'm slumping down a bit, my mouth is on level with his nipple ring.
"What are you doing?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Calming down." Yeah, not so much.
"Why? I was enjoying Angry Abby. You weren't mumbling at me in a monotone. You had some spirit."
"Fuck you," I said in my mumbling monotone, looking him in the eye. "That was the last time you're going to make me sleep."
He flushed, I thought with anger, but his eyes were dark and hooded and his breathing picked up. He ran his tongue over his bottom lip while staring at my mouth. "I guarantee you it is not."
Panic flooded me. I knew what he was thinking about, he knows what this means. How did he figure it out so quick? Is he going to ask me out now, just assuming I'll invite him to play? And what then? All my efforts to calm the hurricane of emotions inside me were wasted, I tried locking my knees as they started to buckle but it was no use. I was falling. Again.
