On Monday morning, the Benriesan Socialis was sitting on the stairs, listening to rain pound the school roof noisily. "I heard," Boo-Boo began, trying to be louder than the thunderstorm but not too loud, "that Lynn has been suspended."
Ely looked away, trying to act innocent. "Oh really?" She asked. "How many days?"
"I don't know," Boo-Boo admitted, a troubled look crossing her face.
Later, after the national anthem and after the usual announcements, the Benriesan Socialis cringed while Rebecca, Faith and Caila laughed as Mdm Wun began to talk.
"As many of our Primary 6s know, recently, there has been a case of a Primary 6 from 6Q who is a head-comm prefect who has been suspended. She insulted a teacher by calling him very rude names which is unacceptable behaviour. We were obliged not to name names until a primary 5 pupil reported that Lynn Tan Kai En had been snooping in her classroom after school. She is no longer a prefect and is now facing expulsion. I very sincerely hope that such an incident will not take place in our school again. To those with their concerns, note that Lynn Tan from 6Q will be punished appropriately when her suspension is over. As you all know, this kind of behaviour is-" Netanya stopped listening and put her head between her hands and groaned loudly. She didn't want to listen to a stupid lecture and she was getting a horrible headache. Eleanor and Isabel covered their ears but Kaitlyn forced herself to listen for she might pick up new information.
"Shut up!" Sophi told Nut sharply. Netanya shook her head, tears rimming her eyes. She could not take it any longer and ran out of the class. She leaned on the railings, crying uncontrollably.
"Mrrw...?" a quiet voice asked, concerned. "We'll come up with something, Nut," Henrietta promised softly.
"Mew..." Nut whimpered pathetically. "I can't stand it! Those girls! They're probably in their class... sniggering, enjoying it. I can't believe them." Nut whispered as more tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Those bloody idiots," Hen agrees sympathetically. Nut shrugged.
"Why aren't you in class?"
"Onna. Yiting. They said she deserves it. They were laughing!" Hen cried, clearly in shock. All the guilt she felt for playing that prank and hurting Onna was gone. If they were going to play this damned game, Hen wanted in. She was going to take that girl down. And the annoying Yiting too.
"Oh my non-existent 5R." Nut whispered. "They're so... cruel!" Netanya turned away and walked back into the classroom without another word, deep in thought. When she entered the classroom, Mr Lim glanced at her knowingly. Mr Lim understood her friendship with the older girl, unlike most teachers, and knew that Nut tended to be quite emotional.
"You okay?" Ely asked Nut worriedly, concern flaring in her dark, stormy eyes. "I can't believe how cruel these mrrw can be!" Ely continued before telling Nut everything Boo-Boo had told her.
Nut couldn't believe her ears. "What? She's suspended?" she exclaimed, a little too loudly, earning a stare from the others. Gravely, Ely nodded her head. "There's nothing we can do about it."
Just then, Boo-Boo walked past their desk and heard Ely. She stopped there and added, "Not for long."
Nut tried hard not to cry has guilt weighed on her shoulders. Nobody knew that she had been the cause of Lynn's suspension but her herself. Just then, her train of thought was cut off as Mr Lim announced, "Everybody, get into groups of 4! We are going to make individual societies!" That was today's activity. Make a society, have a rivalry with another group and then settle your differences to work together... how fun. The Benriesan Socialis had enough to do already.
"'Sabel, group with me and Ely and Boo-Boo?" Nut asked through a sigh. Isabel glanced at Sophi before at Nut. "You know why." Ely mouthed impatiently. Reluctantly, Isabel walked over. "How is it?" she whispered to them. "You know, how is the thing coming along."
"Do you have a computer that we can use for the thing?" Boo-Boo asked quietly.
"No." Netanya whispered before turning away.

How was school?
You are salty.
You didn't answer the damn question.
Because you are salty and you are going to be sarcastic and you are super bitter right now.
Surprise, surprise. How did you know?
See? You are so bitter right now, Lynn.
Whatever.
Oh, come on! Don't be like that,
You still didn't answer the damn question.
It was horrible, okay? Happy now!?
Sorry. How was the announcement?
Don't ask me. I wasn't listening.
You weren't listening to the damn announcement.
Your name was mentioned. Because of something you probably didn't do.
Tell me the important things first next time.
I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE BUT YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TREAT ME LIKE THAT! I AM ALREADY TRYING TO HELP YOU SO SHUT UP! YOU DO NOT BOSS ME AROUND AND IF YOU KEEP IT UP, YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN FAITH TEO.
Oh gosh, I'm sorry, okay!? You try to be suspended and face expulsion and see how you like it would you!?
See you soon. I accept your apology and if you can't meet us because you are grounded, we'll be looking for your house.
Netanya threw her phone down angrily on the canteen table. "I don't what the hell she thinks she is doing. To be fair, it is hard on her though," she muttered furiously to herself. "Sometimes, I can't believe Lynn." She continued, turning to Henrietta.
"Ahhh..." Hen muttered. "We have a little problem. I can't figure out how to break through the security."
"I know how to but I will have trouble looking for the files." Netanya replied.
"Score!" Ely exclaimed loudly. "Nut does security and you look for it!"
"Hey, kids." A cold voice interrupted. "So... sorry to break you guys up but... the offer is still on." Netanya turned around to see Rebecca Wong.
"Found the wrong recess?" Nut asked but her eyebrows still shot up in alarm.
"Perhaps but I found the right kids." Rebecca said. "Join us, or not, I'll report your idea of breaking through security."
"Don't threaten us." Ely mouthed
Benrie gestured at the others, telling them not to worry, she got this.
"Sure." Benrie replied confidently, "We'd love to."
"What the shit is she doing?" Ely whispered to Netanya. Netanya shook her head worriedly. What was Benrie thinking? This was not part of the plan.
Rebecca gasped in shock. "I thought you hated me?"
Netanya and Ely looked at each other, as if to say, "Oh no. This is suicide."
Benrie smiled and replied, "The past is the past. Let's put our differences aside and be friends, hopefully."
Rebecca stopped, her eyebrows furrowed deep in thought. Rebecca then nodded her head and tried for a smile. This was a great opportunity. With them being her friends, she could get away with sabotaging Lynn.
"I'd better get going." Rebecca said, walking away.
"Hen, what do you think you're doing?!" Nut moaned unhappily. "You know that I hate that girl! You know that Faith Teo threatened me!"
"Hen, we're done." Eleanor said, shaking her head.
"No it's not it. We can be her friends, I just know it.
"Hen, what are doing? Do you really believe their bribes? Is Lynn your friend or not!?"
"ARE YOU FRIGGIN OUT OF YOUR MIND?" Ely cried
"WHAT THE IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU DAMNED PIECE OF SHIT!" Netanya shrieked furiously.
"IF YOU TWO IDIOTS JUST FRIGGIN LISTEN TO ME, AND STOP BLABBERING ABOUT STUPID DAMNED NONSENSE." Hen shouted.
"IF LYNN IS YOUR BLOODY FRIEND, YOU WOULDN'T BE DOING THIS!" Nut hollered furiously. She was so done with Henrietta. Whatever Henrietta was doing, if she even had a damn plan, it was probably going to backfire.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO DO, YOU FRIGGIN IDIOT!?" Eleanor screamed, seeing red.
After her large outburst, Nut calmed down enough to speak without shouting. "I, Netanya Faith Tham, hold you, Henrietta Tjan Shii Ern, by your oath. By turning against the Benriesan Socialis, you are hereby-" Before Netanya could finish, Henrietta cut in. "You don't understand."
"Fine," Ely sneered rather nastily. "Make us understand."
"We will make them show up at Mr Fan's office, pretending that there was this thing that they came up with, to frame Lynn. Then I will show the video. Bam! They will have to explain themselves." Benrie spat angrily, "Understand?"
Nut looked at Ely, not knowing what to say, feeling a little guilty at shouting at Benrie earlier. She was just trying to help, though joining Rebecca and her friends would be hard.
"Understand." They both replied.
"We are using trickery?" Netanya asked uncertainly. She really disliked this plan. "I'm fine with trickery but they will make us commit to the cause, their cause. This will not end well."
