Mana. The quintessential source for all magic.

As previously covered, there is quite a limited capacity for mana, although alterations upon the physical body itself can increase/decrease the maximum amount of mana one can store (in this sense, an elephant contains more mana than a mouse).

However, there is much more to it. Specifically, Mana Capacity Type.

Mana Capacity Type (or MCT) drastically changes how much mana one can store. The most well-known types are:
- Type Null: As rare as the Type XI, Type Null is essentially little to no capacity for mana at all. In some cases, this is primarily due to the Mana Quality Type being so high quality that growth into the higher types is delayed to prevent the person's death.
- Type I: The most basic type one starts off with in life. Due to other types resulting in a condition similar to polycythemia vera (which is when the red bone marrow overproduces red blood cells). However, there are rare exceptions to this condition depending upon Body Quality Type and Mama Quality Type. MCTI (Mana Capacity Type I) is relatively insufficient to cast spells to do significant damage to creatures larger than the average rat.
- Type II: The relative standard for the vast majority in Humans ages 3 - 9 (this takes into account documentation of the population's MCT as they age).
- Type III: Developing around the ages of 10 - 20, MCTIII is what one would expect of your average student who studies magic (although not to the degree of an apprentice of a magus or a specialized school for magic users).
- Type IV: At around ages 21 - 30, much of the population stays around this MCT. Considered "D Class Hunters", this is not too impressive. While certainly enough to kill a wandering band of 10 goblins or so, it won't be enough to defeat something like a fairly large golem or a demonic-class creature.
- Type V: Essentially your average, just-finished-schooling magic user. The relative standard that all magi follow and help their apprentice cultivate.
- Type VI: In terms of magi, they something akin to a "half rebirth", where they do not feel like they have gotten 100% more powerful than before, but it is something.
- Type VII: The "full rebirth", a magus has the ability to integrate approximately 1 or 2 magic circles into the primary magic circle.
- Type VIII: Generally your expert magus, they are your "B Class Hunters".
- Type IX: The equivalent of an "A Class Hunter", they are considered the professionals in their field, capable of integrating 5 - 6 magic circles.
- Type X: Unlikely to ever be cultivated, only the dedicated or the talented is able to reach this MCT. Thus, the magus would be considered an "S Class Hunter". Capable of integrating 7 - 8 magic circles.
- Type XI: Extremely rare. Roughly a mere handful have ever reached this stage. In fact, their magical prowess would be slightly below Merlin. Capable of integrating 9 - 10 magic circles.

Note: As the examples of the average Human is used, they naturally reach MCTIV.
