Dally's POV
I made it to the hospital and right to Sara's room. To my surprise it was empty, except for an nurse changing the bed.
"Where'd she go?" In questioned.
"Got discharged half hour ago." She responded continuing to pull the sheet back on. I whipped around and bolted to Pony room. I popped my head in and saw no Sara. Darry saw me, he looked mad, vines in his neck stickin out.
"What the hell are you here for?" He yelled.
"Uhh..just checking on the kid." I rambled before checking Max's and Johnny's. She wasn't in any of them, actually neither was Soda, Steve, or Two. Before I was going to leave I quickly went to back to talk to Johnny. I made sure he was comfortable before I told him I had to split. He's awake now and talks so he's fine. My feet hit the concert with a thud as I ran to the Curtis' house. I flung the door open earning stares from everyone inside.
"Where is she?" I asked but no one said anything. Steve and Two continued watching Tv, Soda on the other hand was glaring at me. His face was red, and very angry. This is probably the first I've really seen him mad like this he's always smiling.
"Take a picture will yea?" I huffed. I guess Soda finally had enough of me because next thing I knew was he punched my jaw.
"This is all your fault, now my twin is heart broken because you weren't safe." He yelled as I held my jaw, I swear I heard something crack, if he was anybody else right now I'd feed it right back. Steve pulled Soda back and Two bit put an arm on my shoulder.
"You made a big mess Dallas and your just making it worse. Leave before she comes back, she doesn't need anymore of your bullshit especially now you knocked her up." Soda paused realizing what he just said infront of Steve and Two.
"Way to go numb-nuts." I sneered. Soda lunged at me but Steve caught him, I smiled.
"Wait yous got her pregnant?" Steve asked after pushing Soda away. I rolled my eyes.
"He literally just said it."
"Whoa! Looks like Stevie here owes me a dollar." Two bit cheered.
"Two shut your trap." Steve whispered.
"You bet on that?" Sodas face was getting redder.
"Well Steven doubted you but I knew you'd getter in." Two chuckled and slapped my back. You could practically see steam form Sodas ears, I knew he was mad and he knew I was too,  so I did the only thing I'm good at. I clenched my fists and swung around to punch Two bit in the side of his head. Two swayed for a moment before hitting the floor, Steve rushed over but I knew Two was alright. If I wanted him seriously damaged in would of done it. I let out a laugh and turned to Soda, he was smiling at me. He probably was thankful I did that because Soda would never punch the gang, like how I do.
"Seriously Dal?" Steve complained as we moved Two onto the couch.
"I should kick your teeth in too?" I replied, Steve shook his head. Soda went to get ice for Twos head. I went into Saras bedroom, but again she wasn't in there. "Ok guys, where is she?"
"I ain't about to tell yous." Steve said plopping a seat in Darrys chair. I struck a match to lit my weed and continued onto Soda.
"Darrys going to kill you when he-" Soda starts.
"I'm gong to kill who?" Darry questioned walking in the door. Steve, Soda and I all freeze. I hope Soda doesn't spill again because this time Darry would blow a nut. "Hey no smoking in here." Darry commanded taking my smoke away. As he turned back towards the living room I saw his eyebrow raise. "Whys Two unconscious?" I just smiled at him, Darry didn't appreciate it very much.
" Shoulda known...And why are you in my house?"
"Darry you need to stop being so pissy." Soda said.
"Same goes for you too, you both are at fault for getting the kiddos in the hospital." He explained.
"Your the one who let them out by themselves!" I snapped.
"Well if you weren't always bringing trouble 'round here they would of been fine." My eyes rolled so far back, he always uses that excuse of I'm trouble.
"Man you say that every time you hear my name."
"I know it's a lot and I'm sick of it." Darry spat. I stepped towards him fists ready to knock his lights out but Soda popped in front of me.
"Can't we all just apologize and move on, this isn't solving anything and it's hurting the gang. We need to ship up, and forgive because everyone messes up." Soda spoke. We all were quite, the only sound was Two bits nose breathing. No one spoke for a good ten minutes until Soda broke it. "How's Pony?"
"He's good, still banged up pretty good, Doc said tomorrow if he feels ok he can get released." Darry responded walking over to the couch where two was.
"Johnny?" I muttered.
"Same thing, tomorrow if he's up for it." Darry said quickly inspecting the bruise I left on the side of Twos head. "How's Sara?"
Before me or Soda could answer Steve spoke up. "Won't know she's not in the hospital and doesn't want to see us."
"Steve!" Soda and I hissed at him, well Soda said Steve I added some extra names in for him.
"Wait what?" Darry pounced to his feet.
"She ugh.." Soda started but once again Steve answered.
"She's at Twos momsies house, cuz she and Dal created something." So that's where she was, I'm going to have to go see her. Darry looked confused for a moment but his eyebrows slowly came closer together.
"Oh so it can talk." I shoot at Steve. I don't think he understands very much, sometimes he may be worse than Soda but that's probably why their friends.
"Is he saying what I think he's saying?" Darry questioned us, me and soda both said no in unison but Steve said yes. You could see the anger build in him, I knew he wanted to kill me on the spot.
"Darry, it's ok." Soda tried but I mad it worse by saying 'says the one who was off his rocker minute ago'. Both the Curtis' glared at me, obviously for different reasons but to the same extent. I knew that Darry would come and beat the tar outta me any sec so I sprinted towards the door. I was abruptly stopped when someone grabbed my collar and pulled me back.
"You're not going to see her, when she wants to talk to you she will." Soda stated but it was Darry holding my collar. I looked at him and he looked at me, my eyes were hard but his were on fire. I tried to push him off of me, instead he retaliated with a swift punch to the face. My hand shot up in habit, Darry stumbled back and cursed. In a blink Darry had me on the ground and was beating on me. I wasn't really trying to get him off, I deserved all this for what I did.  Darry was finally pulled off me by Steve and Soda, I slowly rose up and went to sit at the kitchen table. I knew that the boys would stop me if I tried to leave again, I could leave if I wanted too but I don't want to be fighting them anymore. The rest of the night I sat at the table holding my face, they left a pretty good mark that'll show tomorrow. It was quiet, no one talked, the TV was on but no one was watching it. It just provided some sound in the eerily quiet house. Two woke up later, Steve took him to his house for the night. I plopped myself on the couch expecting Soda and Darry to go to bed too but both stayed out, they probably didn't want me sneaking off. The sound of Mickey Mouse faded as I passed out.
Sara's POV
I flipped my pillow over on Two's moms guest bed, I do this because then the pillow is nice and cold instead of sweaty. I stared up at the ceiling not wanted this day to start. I didn't want to face my brother, the gang, or Dallas..I dont want to have to tell them I'm pregnant and them get mad. I don't want things to change because of this, I want my life to be semi normal like it was before. Going to drive ins, work, playing football, occasionally going to parties and drag races. It's going to be hard for me not causing trouble but for Dally... I don't know if he can handle not being bad. I let out a sigh and sat up, when I heard soft foot steps coming up the stairs.
"Sara? Sweetie you up yet?" Mrs. Mathews whispered as she opened the door.
"Yeah but I don't wanna be." I replied easing myself out of bed.
"I know, I know but you got to get over the bad to reach the good." I nodded my head and grabbed my clothes that were neatly folded on the foot of my bed. "You come down stairs and eat because someone wants to see you." She smiled and shut the door. I smiled too because I knew who it was, Twos little sister Isabella or Izzie as he called her.  Two thought Isabella was too pretty of a name for a hood girl so he's been calling her Izzie since the day Mrs.Mathews brought her home. She didn't like that Two calls her that, she's kinda old fashioned where women are suppose to be dainty and polite, and where men are suppose to be gentle and kind. Mrs.Mathews still believes it and taught Two that but after her husband left, our folks death, and Two's drinking problem she's more relaxed on manners and such.
My foot steps creaked as I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. Eggs and toast were carefully arranged on the table, with two glasses of milk, and one cup of coffee. Oranges were sliced up and formed into happy faces. I smiled at Isabella who was patiently waiting for her mom to say she could eat, but since she's related to Two bit she was fidgeting like crazy. I wish I could wake up to something like this every morning, well I do but it's usually just cake and isn't very organized, to have my parents back doing this for us just one last time.
"Mommy Sara's here can I eat?" Isabella whined.
"Now you can." Mrs.Mathews handed her a plate and one to me.
"You didn't have to wait for me." I said grabbing my glass of milk.
"See she was ok with us not having to wait." Isabella chimed before shoving her mouth full of egg.
"Isabella she's our guest and remember what I told you about eating like that?" Mrs.Mathew raised her eyebrows at her. Izzie nodded and continued to stuff her face full but she used a fork. "Still want me to come? I can drive you there."
"I don't know either way the boys will be mad." I shrugged my shoulders. We finished eating and I helped her clean up. The clock read ten when Mrs.Mathews started her navy car and forced me in. The usually short ride seemed to take a thousand years, my heart was pounding and my palms sweaty. Izzie kept talking non stop, which didn't help but all I kept mumbling was that we shouldn't be doing this. Two's mom got out of the car first, she told me to wait and for only her to go in. As she went in a waited outside waiting for my que to stroll on in. I heard Darry and Soda say hello but before anyone else could say it too she swiftly and calmly stated 'your sister is coming home, be thoughtful and consider her feelings over yours, if you make her stressed or upset in anyway I'll be back to pack her things'. She opened the screen door pulled me in and left me there all alone. I nervously glanced around the room and only saw Darry, Soda, and...damnit Dally. I could run out right now and hopefully make it back to Two's moms house before they caught me. No that's stupid anyone of them could catch me before I left the house. I took a deep breathe and started to talk.
"Umm..Darry I have s-something to s-say." I whispered. Before I could say it Soda came and hugged me. I tensed up but he smiled.
"He knows already." I gulped and looked at Darry than back to Soda.
"You told him." I punched Sodas arm.
"Actually Steve did.." I raised my eyebrows, what does he mean Steve told him..Steve knows! "Long story." Was all he said.
"Come here kid. I'm sorry for getting mad at you." Darry opened his arms up before engulfing me in another hug. "I ain't mad no more we sorted everything out yesterday. But I still don't like it." He smiled at me which scared me as he had a bruised jaw and I hesitantly turned to face Dally. I gasped when I saw his face, it was beat up and he had a cut on his lip.
"Dal you ok." Was all I said because I was still angry at him and didn't want to seem to clingy.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know why I said that to you and just left you like that. Man I was scared for the first time in my life I was terrified. I-I didn't know what to do and after the points you made I-"
"Dallas," I reasoned cutting him off. "It's my fault and I shouldn't have said those things to you, I may have over reacted." His face went soft, as a grin spread across his face. "But don't you ever leave." Dal was hugging me in an instant before he jumped away.
"Sorry." He said looking at me than to my stomach.
"Man you don't know a whole lot." I giggled looking at my clueless guy. Darry smiled and started planing everything out loud, it was like an itinerary for the next seven months of my life. How I needed to be with someone every minute until the baby was born, or to make sure I'm not stressed. Darry did this until Two and Steve left because it was so late and frankly I think they were sick of everyone, mostly Darrys chatter. I went into the bedroom to change and go to bed. I pulled open my dresser drawer, it was broken so it came right out of its slot. It took me by surprise and I fumbled a bit with it crashing it against the dresser.
"Sara!" Darry, Soda, and Dallas came running into the bedroom. I rolled my eyes at them while they all sighed to see I was alive.
"You shouldn't be lifting." Darry lectured taking the drawer out of my arms and putting back in its place.
"It slide off the rails and I wasn't prepared for it." I replied to him than looked at Soda for help. He nodded his head with Darry than they both left back to the living room. My mouth was open with shock, why are they babying me? Come on is this how it's going to be from now on, I'm the last person they need to worry about not being able to take care of oneself.
"Unreal.." I muttered shaking my head than turning back to my dresser. I found my regular clothes along with my puffy pink pjs that were what little kids wore and I didn't wear them anymore plus the boys make fun of me. Finally I found my pair of plaid pants and my old blue shirt that had holes around the collar. Dallas let out a chuckle, I slowly turned to see him cooly leaning against the wall. I narrowed my eyes at him wondering why he's still there gawking at me.
"Cut that out Dal." I demanded.
"I ain't doing nothing man." He pleaded keeping a grin plastered on his face.
"I need to change get out or turn around." I motioned him to turn.
"Are you freaking kidding me?" Dal complained. I crossed my arms waiting, he rolled his eyes and cursed obeying my demand turning away. I swapped my clothes but I got distracted looking in the mirror at my self. I lifted my shirt and stared at my belly slowly twisting left to right. I wasn't showing yet, at least it didn't look like that to me. It must off been a long time because soon Dally popped into the mirror beside me. I quickly snapped of of my daze pulling my shirt down and frowned.
"What's wrong doll?" He whispered wrapping his arms around me pulling us together.
"It's just that everyone will be staring at my because I'll get fatter than I already am and no ones acting the same around me..." I sighed glancing at him through the mirror. His face was cold and hard, he was thinking of what to do.
"Your not fat no where's close to that..you're perfect yay here and if anyone's talking and stuff I'll handle them." He said brushing his nose against my ear. "Nothing will happen to my babies." Dal started kissing my neck making me squirm from his wet kisses.
"Nah ah! No No, come here Dallas." Darry yelled grabbing Dals collar and hauling him out of the room.
"Darrell lay off man to late for starting that now." Dally shouted, I let out a laugh and heard Darry smack him on the head.
"Couch. Now." Darry continued to yell at him. I pulled the covers back and slide into bed to listen to them argue.
"Seriously man? Come on." Dally whined.
"So help me god if you try move I'll make you disappear." Darry sneered.
"Darry!" I screamed. Dally laughed but Darry stomped to his room as Soda came into ours. He flicked the light off.
"Goodnight sis." Soda whispered.
"Goodnight Sodapop." I mumbled curling up in my bed. Good thing I have my twin, I don't know if my life would be the same without him. He holds us together no matter what anyone says he's the reason.
