A Frail Love

Until Dawn

A failure, a lost cause, an unachieved dream, a defeat... As I was realizing I wouldn't greet Death tonight, Life was pulling me up back to the top of this endless and freezing ocean. The wind punching my wet face was even more cold, like Life wanted to punish me for trying to leave her. But I didn't care, what was the point of staying in the arms of the one who pushed you down this deadly cliff ? I was done with my existence and wanted to shelter into Death's clutches...

Instead of coughing all the glacial water my lungs were containing, I kept it all into them while retaining myself from breathing...

I was barely conscious and totally desperate, when my flooded ears heard a voice.. A manly voice that sounded familiar..

But Life's punishment was too severe, I may not have died while drowning but the Cold was slowly consuming me...

Which made me faint in this same water, in the arms of my savior...

And still full if desperation and Hope, I was praying for Death to steal me once again...

Lips touching mine, an ear listening to my heart, and a hand slapping my wet and pale cheeks... That is what I woke up to, after fainting into this Deadly Ocean... I wasn't floating anymore, I could feel an earthy ground beneath me and smell the odor of a humid swamp...

After rising my knees to put both of my feet on the ground, I could recognize the one who saved me bravely, and kept on trying to wake me up...

He was freezing and confused, I had never heard such a fast heartbeat !

But He was there, with me, besides me ; finally he noticed me, and took care of me...

" What happened to you Toph ?! Young know you can't swim, and this water was freezing ! You could have died there, he yelled as I was coughing water and wringing my messy hair !"

He was about to lecture me like he was sort of a big brother, like he always did with Katara or Aang...

But I wasn't here to get yelled at, he was the one who should be desperate and confused !

" Can you imagine what would have happened if I didn't save you ? If I didn't notice you wanted to take a dip into this frozen ocean in such a dark night where no one could hear you ?! Especially when you CANNOT swim ? "

Finally,

I was getting his attention, the attention I always wanted. As I was stole coughing the cool and salty water, he continued :

" Good thing Suki noticed you were gone and I went to check outside for you !"

He said it... "SUKI". The name that would make me want to explode or fill me up with anger all of a sudden. He was finally focusing on me and my frozen heart, when he abruptly brought her back between us. Once again, she stole his attention from me and gained a golden crown...

Her name echoed in my mind as he kept on yelling at me, when I stood up at once to yell even louder :

" Suki, Suki, Suki !! Always Suki, your future wife ! She's got everything and I've got nothing, so please leave me alone and stop bringing her name back in my presence !! I've shut my mouth for so many years, while she was gaining all your attention ! I fought for you, I cried for you and I won NOTHING ; and all she has I do to win you is flipping her brown hair and give you a stupid smile ! Sacrifices Sokka, do you know how many I've done for you ?! How many times I cried for you or even hurt myself or you ?! Or were you too busy with your precious girl to notice that ?! I was done, so please, shit up and don't speak her name ever again !! "
