When you said you love me...

"Joey, you're pathetic." Kaiba says. He steps on me again and again, calling me things like 'Bad Dog' and 'Mutt'.
It hurts so much... I cry out, and suddenly I sound just like a dog. There's a collar around my neck, and Kaiba tugs on it harshly as he continues to step on me.
"Pathetic. Worthless. Waste of space."

My eyes fly open, but the pain from my dream is still there. I sit up, revealing a shoe. I must've been too tired to push it off of the bed before sleepin'.
What a horrible dream though... A stupid dream too. I could care less what that jerk thinks of me.
I look at the clock on my nightstand and groan. It's too early to be gettin' up, but too late to fall back asleep.
I stand up and go to the bathroom, scooping up a towel to bring with me. I may as well get ready, I figure. When I get in, the water is cold as all hell.
I rush through the shower, then get dressed in my school clothes and shoes. I've been putting off getting the water system repaired for a while, although it's not like I could afford it or anything anyways. Stuff like that is way too expensive, and I still gotta eat and pay bills.
Since I'm an Omega minor, I get a check every month to take care of myself. I guess it's the government's way of acknowledging that heats really suck, and that Omegas need a lot before and after them.
Either that or they don't want young Omegas to actually look for jobs. Either way, it works for me.
This morning, I sit in the kitchen for a bit, just staring blankly at the table and not thinking about much of anything. After a while, I start moving again and make breakfast. It's nothing too big; just boiled rice and an egg.
When I'm done eating, I put the bowl in the sink and run some water in it. I tell myself that I'll wash it when I get home, but I probably won't.
I walk to school, and it's actually really nice out. It's a pleasant temperature, and there's a nice calm breeze goin' by. The walk doesn't seem as long as usual, and when I get to school I sit on a bench beneath a tree for a while. I guess I'm sleepy, because I'm out before I know it.

When I wake up, I'm surrounded by pink petals. They fall out of my hair as I sit up, and when I notice that Kaiba is walking up I almost gag. What the hell is this, some sappy 90s romance anime?!
Nah, it can't be. He's scowling like I'm vandalizing his personal property, and when he stops he huffs as if I said something rude or stupid.
"So you're skipping classes now?" He asks, and I'm honestly shocked. I lean forward on the bench and my eyes go wide.
"What?! I'm late?!" I ask, kinda panickin'.
He rolls his eyes, and I notice that he's refusing to look straight at me. He looks toward the front entrance, then nods slightly. "Yeah, about half an hour. Really, you're so stupid."
"Hey, shut the hell up. It's none of your business anyways." I say, and he finally glares over at me. "Plus, it's not like I'm killin' someone. I'm just a little late."
He's quiet for a moment, and I can see the anger risin' up to a boil as he continues to glare at me. He finally explodes, and it takes everything in me not to flinch.
"Do you even have any idea how dangerous it is for an Omega to sleep in the middle of a public space?! Are you really that naive, or are you just stupid?" He asks, pissed beyond belief. "Someone like you shouldn't be allowed to be alone like that! It should be illegal! There are bad people out here, idiot! If I wanted to, I could've... Could've..."
He stops, then makes a vague gesture. I blush a bit at the implication, then grit my teeth. "Well, you're not tha boss a' me. I'll do whateva the hell I want, you rich prick! And if you get so hot and bothered by seein' me sleepin' why don't ya just do somethin' then, Huh? Cause you're a goody-two-shoes, spoiled, rich boy that's too good for everyone else! Aren't you?!"
Kaiba grabs my waist harshly and pulls me closer to him, growling and glaring down at me. Suddenly, my legs want to turn into jelly and my heart feels like I just ran a marathon. My hands move to his wrists and I tug at them weakly, but I just... Don't want him to let go. Maybe there's something wrong with me.
"G-get your damn hands off of me." I say, although my voice is hardly threatening.
We stare at each other for a minute or two, then Kaiba backs away and let's me go.
"Don't say stupid things like that, Wheeler." He says, then crosses his arms. "Just be glad I woke you up and get to class already. If you keep me any longer, the teacher will wonder where I'm at."
I glare, but I nod all the same. I head to class, and only later in the day do I feel as if I missed something.

Did he leave class to come get me?
