Spy school
5:00 frickin' o'clock in the morning
Ben's POV
I woke with a sick stomach, I leaned over the side of the bed and let out last nights dinner. I had a hangover from too much pop. I then remembered that I had a thirteen-hour flight ahead of me and airport security. I vomited again. It wasn't going to be a good day. I cleaned my room up, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and put a mint in my mouth. 'Cause you've got to have good breath, or at the very least, not have your breath smell like vomit. I checked the time, 5:30, I better hurry.
I ran to the spot where the CIA said they'll have a taxi waiting. Both Erica and the car were already there. I put my luggage in the back, then I hopped in. The second I put my seatbelt on, the taxi blasted towards the airport. Even though it was 5:45, the traffic was still insanely bad so it took 'till 7:00 to get there. We paid the cab and rushed to the airport. The planes roared above us. We went inside. We quickly found the AirCanada check-in line. We got our tickets and put in our luggage. The CIA told us to travel lightly and not carry too much since we'll be jumping around the country. We each had two suitcases and a backpack. We also had almost unlimited funds from uncle sam. We then got in line for the infamously long international TSA screening. Once we finally got through all of that and into the gate, it was 8:30. We didn't have any breakfast so we got McDonald's.
Once we finally ate, they were already starting to board the plane. We got on without much trouble and started on our flight to YYZ (Toronto, Canada) which would be connecting us to our flight to PEK (Beijing, China). The plane then took off, which is always the most fun part of the flight. I then realized that there's not much to do on the plane, so I spent my time looking out the window, thinking 'bout life. I listened to a podcast by Dan Carlin for the whole flight. When we landed, we got to bypass some of the immigration and visiting areas because we had a connecting flight. Then we finally got to the international flight terminal. My stomach gurgled.
"You hungry?" Erica asked. She must have heard me even though I had no idea my body ever produced a sound that loud. She was only carrying her backpack, as was I because our baggage was being transferred to the 777 that would bring us to PEK.
"Uh, yeah," I replied. I quickly did a scan around the terminal, yet saw nothing of interest.
"Ever heard of a place called Tim Hortons?"
"No"
Erica started walking to the end of the terminal. I followed her. We took a turn into a rarely visited part of the airport and saw a busy shop in the corner to the left of the doorway. Tim Hortons. We got some coffee and sandwiches and then just hanged around 'till our flight came.
30 minutes before our flight, I went to the bathroom, when I got back, I saw a line of a few hundred people at our gate. Erica stood casually in the back.
"What happened?" I asked as I approached her. I stopped beside her.
"They started boarding." She said.
"Is this all one plane?" I had a hard time believing it.
"Yes," she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Wow," I said. The line inched slowly forward. It took us a whole hour to get through to the plane.
When we entered the plane, we were greeted by a flight attendant holding a ton of backpacks.
"Do you want one?" She said after noticing me look at them whilst walking past.
"Sure," I replied and continued down to our seats.
Our seats were located in row 58, A and B. I managed to snatch window seat while Erica got middle. A teenaged girl sat to the right of her. A package was on my seat containing a pillow and a blanket. I opened them up, but not with the intent to sleep right away, I'd have plenty of time for that, no, because it was crazy cold on the massive vehicle. The safety video then played, and the engines started.
