So, wow, holy crap it's been a while. Yeah, I haven't updated in what? Five months? Anyway, sorry 'bout that. I've had school and sports and the like. I've also had brand new video games to play, great music from 40 years ago to listen to, and brand new fanfictions to read.

Yeah, I'm a busy guy.

Anyway, today's a bit short, gotta get back into the groove of writing. Anyways, enjoy!

Ps: I'm a pretty stupid guy so if you've got any suggestions, please, please, for the love of god, write them in the comments.

I  stopped in my tracks, without a clue on what to do. The man looked at me, expecting an answer.

"Um... I'm, well, I work here?" I hadn't gotten any better at lying.

"What's the name of this hotel?" The man said.

Shoot. Didn't count on that.

"Uh..."

"You've got five seconds to tell me who you really are or I'll blow your head off." The man said. I fidgeted nervously, trying my best not to freak out.

"Five," The man started counting down. Sweat dripped from my forehead.

"Four," My only hope at that point was Erica would somehow magically appear out of thin air.

"Three," Come on, anytime now, Erica.

"Two," Now I'm screwed. Erica was nowhere in sight. I was starting to plan my funeral in my head. Of course, I wouldn't be able to tell anyone, but I've got time. One second's quite a bit, especially if your life's about to end.

"One," The man grinned.

"Oh my God! Jack, are you ok?" Erica cried out from the hallway. She looked straight at me, giving me a 'Wow, and I thought you were a terrible agent before' look. The man quickly hid the gun, realizing his mistake.

"Oh yeah, uh, just a misunderstanding,"  I said.

"Oh thank god you're okay little bro," Erica told me. 'Little bro'? Why couldn't I be 'boyfriend', 'honey', or 'lover'?

Erica turned to the man. "What in the world do you think you were doing? You could've killed him!"

"I'm so sorry ma'am."

"Get out of here, all of you!" She yelled to all of the men. They funneled out, not wanting to feel the wrath of Erica.

"Why little brother?" I asked her as soon as all the men were out of sight. You know, instead of 'thank you' or anything.

"Hey, I just saved you," Erica pointed out.

"Still," I said, though the second that word slipped my mouth, I winced.

I was starting to push it.

"Listen, I don't know what you think we have here, and I don't care. There is nothing going on between us. Alright? So can't you just drop it? We're never going to date, so stop trying." She said.

I stood there, wavering. Did she really just say that? I thought. Tears started to form in my eyes. I turned around. It was bad enough she already didn't like me, but if she saw that I was a 'crybaby', then my life might as well be over.

I took in deep breaths, calming myself. I walked back to the hotel room, after all, I was still tired. I fell onto the bed, trying to sleep. Unfortunately, to my dismay, I couldn't. Because of course, I couldn't.

So I spent the whole night thinking instead. I came to the conclusion that, as much as I wanted one, I don't need a girlfriend. I don't need Erica's approval. I don't need to finish this mission.

That last one got me thinking some more. What if I just left? Sure, I would lose friends, my reputation, and I would never be able to see Erica again. But on the plus side, I wouldn't lose my life.

Eventually, though, I managed to fall asleep around 4:00 am. So you could guess I was annoyed when Erica woke me up at 5:00.

Now, I'm just paraphrasing here, but it went a little like this:

Erica: "Get up."

Me: "Shut up."

Erica: "Get up now.

Me: Let me sleep a bit more."

Erica: "Have you forgotten who you're talking to?"

Me: "Nope."

Erica: "I swear, if you don't get up right now, I will make you pay."

Me: "Fine."

Erica: "Good."

Me (under breath): "You have no idea how much I hate you."

Erica: Kicks me in the stomach, sending me flying towards the wall.

Erica (Copying me): "You have no idea how much I hate you."

And that's how I started off my day.
