Before, Zhengting wasn't a shy person. He had been friendly, outgoing and sociable. But there are generally two things that can do that: moving to a new school, and high school. Zhengting had suffered both. Si now, he was just another shy, socially awkward kid with only a couple friends. As he stared into the mirror on that one insignificant morning, he had the same mindset as he did any other regular day-keep quiet, talk only to a friend, and try to survive.

He boarded the bus that day like any other day-quietly, with a blank, emotionless expression on his face. Keeping his head down, he hurriedly scurried to his seat in the near back. Slipping into his seat, he kept his head down  pretending to look for something in his bag while quitely begging the bus to move faster so Nongnong could get on here more quickly.

As the bus pulled into his street, Zhengting craned his neck to look for Nongnong. He looked as hard as he could, but Nongnong's figure was nowhere to be seen. He sighed. Maybe he's just late to the bus, he thought. Nongnong has a bad habit of sleeping in a lot. Zhengting listened as the bus doors creaked open slowly with a groan like the rusty old bus it was. He stood up as much as he could with his seatbelt on, anticipating the familiar figure of his best friend. One person came on...then another...then another...and still no Nongnong. Zhengting sighed as he sat down again miserably. How was he going to get through today without Nongnong? He supposed he could talk to Yanjun, but Yanjun was too introverted to actually engage in a real conversation. Zhengting sighed, slumping back into his seat.

A burst of laughter brought him back from his daydream. Glancing up, he saw three boys from his grade roaring with laughter as they headed to the back to find seats. They must have had a sleepover last night, he thought. He looked at the three boys: Justin, Xiao Gui and of course Cai Xukun. They were the three most popular kids in the grade and Zhengting wasn't surprised that they were having yet another hangout. Zhengting watched as they stumbled to the back, still doubling over with laughter, no doubt to another one of their inside jokes. They got to the back and looked around for a free three-seater, but there was only a double seater and a handful of single seats next to a bunch of people. The three boys exchanged a glance, then Xiao Gui and Justin sat down in the two-seater. Where was Cai Xukun going to sit? Zhengting couldn't care less(or at least he pretended he didn't). He turned around and was just about to flip open his book when he felt a surprisingly soft tap on his shoulder. He jumped in his seat and spun his head around to look at the offender.

And froze.

Because the perfect face of Cai Xukun was staring back at him, eyebrows slightly narrowed, perfect messy hair-a pale golden colour today-on top of his perfect face. "Hey...Um...You mind if I sit here?" he said, his rich deep voice sending a weird tingling feeling through Zhengting. Zhengting's eyes popped open. Why would perfect, perfect Cai Xukun sit next to him of all people? "Uhhhhh...Sure, no problem," he spluttered, flushing furiously. "Thanks, dude," Xukun said with a sort of crooked half smile. He plunked down and, completely ignoring Zhengting, turned back around and started talking with Justin, apparently continuing an earlier argument.

The bus pulled into the parking lot pretty soon, and the students began piling off the bus one by one. Zhengting was just about to push past Xukun to get to the door when Xukun turned around and  said with a cheeky smirk, "Thanks, Zhengting."

Zhengting froze. What was with the sexy smirk, the twinkle in his eyes, the warm voice that made his stupid heart flutter? Xukun was a boy. A BOY. Boys like girls and vice versa. Not boys. So why did he feel like this?

And what was happening to him?
