Forever and Always - a zhengkun story (ON HOLD)

The next day, Zhengting sat down in his usual spot by the back and waited nervously to get to Nongnong's stop. As "okay" as yesterday was, he still really missed having his best friend by his side. Zhengting wasn't one to open up to others quickly, and he only truly felt safe when he was with Nongnong. As the bus screeched to a stop, he anxiously peered our the window, desperately looking for the features of Nongnong.

And Xukun.

He wouldn't admit it to himself, but deep down Zhengting knew that he was anxious to see Xukun again. Would he be awkwardly nice? Would he be mean? And most of all, would he just ignore Zhengting again like usual? He couldn't figure out the complexity of the older, cooler kid.

"Ting-ge!" he hears a familiar voice yell. Zhengting glances up quickly and saw Nongnong heading towards him, a great big smile plastered across his adorable face. 

"Hi, Nongnong! How are you?" he yelled back, a familiar sprout of happiness blooming within him.

"I'm totally better now, thanks Ting!" he answered, beaming wider by the second.

Zhengting laughed. Nongnong was so awkward and cute at the same time, a lot of people loved him even though he wasn't exactly popular, though he was much higher up the social ladder than Zhengting and Yanjun's table. Nongnong plopped down next to Zhengting and instantly moved in for a 'Nong-hug' - his famous choke-hold like hug. "Uhhhh...I can't bbbbbb...breatheeeee," Zhengting choked out. "Oops! Sorry, I just miss you is all," Nongnong answered with a laugh. "Awwww...Thank you!"

Suddenly, Zhengting heard a masculine laugh a row behind him. He jerked around and stared into the glittering dark eyes of Cai Xukun.

Oh my god, I completely forgot about him! Zhengting thought.

"Surprised to see me, Zhengting?" he asked with perfectly arched eyebrows. It was as if he had read Zhengting's mind.

"Uhhhh no! Of course not," he muttered, quickly turning back around and purposely avoiding Nongnong's questioning look.

"Yo dude!" Xukun tapped his shoulder lightly. "The table offer is still up for grabs, if you wanna." He seemed to belated remember Nongnong as well, even though they had know each other longer and were closer that him and Zhengting by miles. "Oh, you can come too," he added, nodding once in Nongnong's direction. Poor Nongnong, having been clueless about what happened yesterday, could only nod blankly, a mask of confusion covering his delicate cute features. 

"I'll think about it," Zhengting promised.

"Cool! Have a great day. See you at lunch!" he replied with a sexy wink that sent Zhengting's heart tumbling in circles. With one last smirk, he stood up and headed off the bus into the school parking lot.

"What...what the hell just happened???" Nongnong spluttered.

"It's a long story, I'll tell you in study hall," he answered shyly, instantly becoming embarrassed again. Without a backward glance, he squeezed past Nongnong and dashed off the bus as well.
