Chapter 2- Run, the Fangirls Are Coming
I crept along with the hundred other kids as we entered the school hallway. I'd hid until the buses came and then launched my way into their swarm. I wore a loose white shirt and light blue jeans. My camoflauge seemed to be the best it could, but was it enough to ward off Aidan? Probably not.
The crowd began to thin and I quickly scampered over to my locker. This had to be quick. I took out my binder and felt someone lean on the locker next to me. Panic quickly rose in my chest as my eyes flicked to the side. I caught sight of blonde hair and my heartbeat quickly slowed.
"Yes?" It came out like a squeak and I silently scolded myself before clearing my throat.
"I just wanted to check on you since well.. you know." Ben offered a small smile and I felt my heart flutter. "You doing ok?"
"I'm fine." I shrugged and closed my locker, turning around to lean on it. "I'm just trying to go unnoticed today."
"Ya I can tell." He chuckled and my heart thumped louder.
There was a girl squealing and jumping around nearby and I eavesdropped the best I could without being noticed.
"You'll never guess who's coming back to school today!" The shorter one squealed.
"Who?"
"Only the hottest boy from middle school! And I've seen pictures and he's even cuter now!" She continued to rant about how good looking a particular reincarnation of Hitler was.
"Run, the fangirls are coming," I muttered under my breath and caught the smile stretch across a certain heart throb's face.
"I forgot how funny you are, Em." He laughed and I grinned from ear to ear. But my happy little LaLa land moment was quickly cut short as I heard the annoying shriek pierce my ear drums.
"Here he comes!"
I watched as if in slow-mo as he walked down the hallway like a movie star, his two best friends by his side. Everyone was staring at them and you could see practically every freshman girl eye-raping them. They winked at a couple and I could feel the bile rising up in my throat. His eyes suddenly landed on mine and a smirk played up on his face. I felt my stomach drop as him and his group made a turn toward me. My eyes widened and I could feel a full on panic attack coming. Ben rested his arm on my elbow and took a step forward. Aidan's gaze shifted to him and an unspoken message was shared between them as Ben stepped down.
"Thompson." Aidan spat out as a greeting to him. "Don't you have a girlfriend to go fuck?"
I felt my heart crack a little and I winced at the blatant nature of the statement. They stared down each other before he leaned in and gave me a long hug.
"If you need anything, just call for me." He whispered and then walked away.
I immediately felt a sence of abandonment as I stood there staring up at the boys in front of me. He glowered down at me and I shrunk backwards toward the lockers.
"You shouldn't hang out with a little bitch like that." He scowled at me. Anger bubbled within me at his statement.
"What do you care?" I crossed my arms.
"I never said I did." He growled and any confidence I had quickly faded away. His eyes held a mischevious gleam, daring me to defy him. I stared up, utterly helpless, only praying somebody would do something before I passed out.
"You look good today, princess." His signature smirk stretched across his face before he waltzed away and I felt my nerves begin to calm.
What just happened?
