My parents were practically shoving me in the car the next morning. They had bought me a plane ticket and told me I was to stay at Malicular until they say otherwise. I did not even have time to tell my friends I was leaving. My dad told me that no one was supposed to know where I was going, but I felt bad that I was up and leaving for the second time. I know it is supposed to be for a good reason but I just wish I knew why I had to leave immediately.
As the flight was descending into Romania I started to get nervous. I didn't know what I was going to find there. I wasn't even sure how to get to this island. Or what I was supposed to look for when I arrived there. I bet it's going to be some type of boot camp where I have to train. I mean, I am supposed to be the strongest Alpha to ever live. That still feels weird to say that.
Uncle Joe was standing in baggage claim whenever I got off the plane and it was a huge surprise.
"Uncle Joe!" I exclaimed.
"Hey kiddo. Didn't think I was going to be here did you? Your dad would have never left you alone without a little bit of protection. Although from what I hear, you don't need it," he said with a wink. I guess my dad told him about me being the first born female.
"I don't know what's going on. Why did I need to come here? Dad wouldn't tell me anything."
"None of us are sure why you need to be here. We have never stepped foot on Malicular. It has always been a secret island. Not many people know about it unless they have books like we do," he said and shuffled me into a car. We drove for almost an hour before we ended up at a ferry. "This is as far as I go. The ferry will take you to Malicular and if you have any issues then you can call me."
"You aren't coming with me?" I asked nauseously.
"Sorry, you're the only one who was to go. I wouldn't want to offend the Great Alphas by showing up unannounced." I nodded my head and felt queasy inside. I did not want to face this alone. I was so nervous. I wish Zach was here to calm my nerves. I wish I could have told him that I was leaving but my dad made me promise I wouldn't tell a soul. I sent him reassuring thoughts through our mate bond and felt warmth being sent back. That made me smile and I had newfound confidence to make it to this island.
When I arrived I was greeted with a giant castle. I wasn't expecting something so beautiful. It was old but it was screaming character and I loved it. There was no one around when I exited the boat so I walked up to the door and rang the bell. A young man answered the door with a friendly smile.
"Piper Listford I presume?" He said in a way that emitted authority. It almost made me cower. But I remembered what I was here for and I stood tall.
"Yes, I am Piper. My dad sent me here because of our blood line."
"Come in, make yourself at home. I will grab my mother and let her know you are here." I explored the sitting area and the gorgeous detail it had in it. It was truly a beautiful home. Suddenly the air felt thick like I couldn't breathe. My head started pounding and my knees felt like they were going to give out. My eyes closed and my head lowered into a look of submission. My wolf was forcing my bow and when I finally reached total submission, I felt fine. I looked up and met the eyes of the Luna. She was radiating power and I understood why my wolf was acting the way she was. She wanted to please the Luna.
"Piper, it is a pleasure to meet you," She said and walked closer to embrace me. Her emerald green eyes and charcoal black hair was stunning. "I was wondering when your family was going to send you to us."
"I heard a voice that told me to come here. I didn't know I was the first born female until I read some books. My parents never told me."
"That was the Great Luna. She told me you would be coming. And she warned me of the situation. You are a powerful, soon to be, alpha. The choices you make and have been making could possibly hurt you. It is better to take precautions than get hurt in the long run. You are to bestow peace and safety in the wolf community. That is your destiny. You have been tasked with something that hasn't been accomplished in a very long time. I know it is hard to think about, but you have it in you.
"The Great Luna brought you here because of your recent realization of your mate. I heard that you found him a few months ago," she said with a quirked eyebrow.
"Yes Luna, I found my mate," I said with a smile.
"I also heard that he rejected you." My heart dropped when I heard her say those words. I didn't want her to think of me as a failure. It is very rare that a wolf rejects their mate.
"He did reject me at first. We are together now though and happy."
"Did he tell you that he accepted you?" She asked.
"He didn't say those exact words but he told me he was sorry for what he did in the beginning."
"Piper, rejecting your mate is almost unheard of. What he did was unacceptable. The Great Luna paired you with him because he will be a strong alpha one day. She did not expect him to reject you. He no longer deserves such a strong woman like you. He has mistreated you over and over. What he did to you is wrong. He would be punished if he were in my pack. The kind of behavior he showed would not be tolerated by anyone."
"I know Luna, but he is trying to make it up to me. I didn't want to forgive him at first but my wolf cannot live without him."
"The Great Luna called you here because he was going to mark you. He never accepted you as his mate after he rejected you. If he were to mark you, you would have gone through a great deal of pain. You would never be yourself again. He would have sequestered the powerful alpha you have inside you. It would have stopped your destiny from happening. I know he is your mate, but sometimes they can hurt you in the long run. It is your decision, but I want you to think about it. It is possible for you to live happily with someone else that accepts you. With someone who compliments your personality and power. Someone who will stand by your side through the journey you have yet to come. It is not my place to tell you what to do, but you should think about it. Zach can only mark you once he has accepted that you are his mate. Otherwise you will never live up to the potential you have inside you." She said and I was going to be sick. This was too much information.
