Dan

"School sucks. School sucks. School sucks. School sucks," I scribbled angrily, making sure the pencil properly dug into the piece of paper. I looked up at the dusty clock on the wall and groaned silently. I'd been stuck in detention for 15 minutes now, and I had no idea when they will let me out.

"Daniel, stop making so much noise," the teacher scolded. He turned his head back towards his computer and resumed typing.

Why am I even here? Oh. I remember now.

-3 hours earlier-

I went past the clumps of people and walked towards our lunch table, carrying my tray of food. Craning my neck at them, I spotted PJ waving to me from our lunch table, along with the rest of the group. I smiled at them as I felt the breeze fly by my face.

Suddenly, I jolted as I felt my foot get caught on a rock, sending my lunch flying. I landed on the hard concrete with a loud thud, clutching me elbow where I had hit it.

A few students gasped.

"Daniel!" I heard a voice growl. My heart leaped as I slowly tore my eyes from the ground, thoughts racing feverishly.

In front of me was my math teacher with a furious look on her face... completely covered with the contents of my lunch. It had stained her blouse with the disgusting sauce as it collected in a small mound on the floor.

She was fuming, her eyebrows tightly furrowed together on her mortified face.

The teacher clenched her fists. "What do you think you're doing," she seethed.

I shook my head in disbelief and took a step backwards. "I-I didn't mean it!" I insisted, looking around nervously. "It was a complete accident, I swear!"

Glaring at me, she clicked her tongue. "Excuses, excuses," she muttered wiping her face with her sleeve.

She rolled her eyes and took out a slip of paper from her pocket, scrawling something on it then jabbing it in my face. I hesitantly took it and crumpled it at my side.

"Detention." she said sternly, still covered in sauce. "Today after school."

Shit.

-Present-

The teacher looked up at the clock and then down at his computer. "Daniel," he called. "You are excused now."

"Thanks," I muttered, grabbing my backpack and speeding my ass out of there. I stepped into the empty hallway and began walking towards the front entrance.

I leaned against the brick wall of the school and crossed my arms impatiently. How much longer would Dan take? Closing my eyes, I sighed.

Speaking of Dan, we all watched him as he spilled spaghetti all over the math teacher during lunch. I giggled as the thought played out in my head.

I remember me, Chris, PJ, and Louise gasping in unison as Dan tripped and caused the whole fiasco. Then we all burst out laughing when he returned to our table with a miserable look on his face clenching a bright pink detention slip in his hand.

The school is basically empty now.

Nervously, I looked at the time on my phone, and then door of the detention room. I felt my heart skip a beat.
