The Mets dropped two places from the previous season and yet again miss the playoffs Seaver and Ryan can't do everything for our franchise. The Mets had their second consecutive winning season but didn't make it back to the postseason for the seventh time in eight seasons as a baseball franchise. The Mets have two of the best pitchers of all time on their staff but the offense slacked off this season en route to a third place finish in the National League East. Pitching was the theme of the game for the Mets but The was solid as well as the Mets won 83 games in their ninth season as a franchise.
