For the second time in four years the New York Mets won the National League pennant but Reggie Jackson was waiting on the other side. A forty two year old Willie Mays couldn't contend with Reggie Jackson and catfish hunter and the athletics repeat as World Series champions in a seven game series win over the Amazin's. The Mets won the national league pennant for the second time in franchise history but lose to now the two time defending champion Oakland Athletics. The Mets are losing time with Tom Seaver and they already lost Nolan Ryan so this is going to be very interesting for the next few years.
