The Mets have a great pitcher and a descent hitter on the roster that lead the amazins to 71 wins in 1974. The Amazins weren't so amazin this season though as they finish twenty games under .500 in the thirteenth year of existence. The Mets struggled this season and the Mets watched the team they lost to the previous season as Oakland won their third World Series championship in a row. Yogi Berra led this team to twenty games under .500 this season.
