Abby:

It was hell on earth. Specifically, in Helm's Deep.

I think the only good thing that happened so far was that it stopped raining shortly after the Uruk-hai brought ladders into this mess.

I did my best to stay close to Legolas or Gimli as the fighting ensued. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought Gimli was having the time of his life. Especially when he stood on top of the wall, between two ladders and swung his axe at every Uruk that made its way to the top.

"Seventeen!" Gimli yelled after each swing at an Uruk. "Eighteen! Nineteen! Twenty!"

As he counted his kills, Legolas and I watched his back and fought off any Uruk that came close. Using the skills Aragorn and Legolas and Boromir taught me, I dodged, deflected, and used my smallness against the Uruks. I would dodge a blow and nick their side with my blade. Or slice up their legs. I even took one out of Gimli's book and brought the blade up between the creature's legs.

Yeah. Ouch.

In the distance, I could hear Aragorn shout out orders in english and elvish. He was directing some attention to the Causeway, but I continued watching Gimli's back.

After dodging and stabbing a few Uruks, I heard Aragorn again. This time, his voice was frantic, and I heard Legolas's name.

Legolas ran to the wall, searched the Uruk army, raised his bow and released a shot. Aragorn continued yelling and Legolas took another shot. His eyes growing wide and fearful. Then his shoulders relaxed and he was back to fighting alongside me.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

"Cathy's taking care of it," was all he said before shoving an arrow through an Uruk's face.

"Drown it!"

Drown it? I was close enough to the wall to peer down just in time to see the water near the drain explode. There was a large torch laying on the ground, that I could have sworn was shooting out sparklers, before it was extinguished. A minute later, the torches that the nearby Uruks carried exploded.

Was that Cathy working her magic?

"Twenty-five!" Gimli shouted.

I snapped back to Gimli and quickly returned to my position and continued fighting the Uruk-hai.

After a couple minutes, a high-pitch scream echoed through the fortress, making me freeze.

It was too high of a pitch to be a man's scream and too human to be an Uruk.

Cathy.

I spun around, trying to pinpoint where the scream came from.

"What is it, Lassie?" Gimli called back.

"That was Cathy's scream," I yelled. "Where is she?"

"She's with Aragorn." Legolas answered.

"Then where is he?"

Gimli shrugged. His eyes fell on something behind me and widened.

"Duck!" He jumped down raising his axe. I jumped to the side just as Gimli's axe met the skull of a Uruk.

"Thanks. We need to find Cathy and Aragorn."

"There's a lot of Uruk-hai between us and them." Legolas warned.

"Then let's not waste time."

An Uruk jumped over the wall and faced us. It raised it's sword and swung. I ducked and sliced at its leg. When it flinched from the pain, Gimli swung his axe right across it's chest with so much force that the Uruk flew into the wall. We faced another Uruk and took it down.
