I hope you enjoy this fanfiction! I'm just hoping the hardcore Percabeth shippers don't find me-

Normally, on a day like this, you'd be going to school with all of your friends. Instead, on your way to the bus, you found yourself being chased by... well, you didn't know what you were being chased by.

"Get back!" A voice yelled at you. A boy about your age held a bronze sword in his hand, looking as though he was going to defeat this thing.

You did as you were told, taking shelter behind a tree. You weren't sure it was much protection, but it was the best you could do for the time being.

The monster that had chased you had at first seemed human, but now you could see that it looked rather demonic. A humanoid creature with disgusting leathery black wings had been chasing you.

In a matter of seconds, the boy swung his sword and turned the demon to dust.

"You- you saved me," Was all you could manage. You walked out from behind the tree, walking closer to the boy. Now that you were closer, you felt as though you recognized him. He just nodded.

"It's no problem," He said, then turned to leave.

"Wait! Don't I know you? And what was with that sword? And what was that thing?" The boy froze.

"You- You could see that?" Was all he said. You nodded.

"It seemed like it was after me. Why?" The boy thought about it for a moment, then held out his hand to you.

"I'm Percy Jackson. Let me take you someplace safe."

***

Percy had taken you to Camp Half-Blood. You two became good friends, and he introduced you to his friends. Your godly parent had yet to claim you, so you stayed in the Hermes cabin where you'd also become pretty good friends with the Stoll brothers, even if they did prank you from time to time.

All seemed well, until one night of capture the flag. You were on a team with Percy and Annabeth, your two best friends. You knew how competitive the two could be, but you never saw their argument coming.

After weeks of winning the capture the flag, they had finally lost. And neither of them were happy about it.

"It's your fault, Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth yelled.

"It is not!" Percy yelled back. You slowly backed away from the two, but it was too late. They both turned towards you.

"Well," Annabeth said, "(Y/n)? Who do you think should take the blame?"

The two stared at you expectantly. You weren't sure on what to say. Both of them were your friends, and it was only fair that all of the team take the blame, but you knew it would be no use. Annabeth knew all your weaknesses and how to exploit them. You knew if you didn't give her an answer she liked, she would do her best to change your mind.

"Just blame me," You decided, "I didn't do a good enough job defending. I'll take the blame, fair and square."

Annabeth looked at you for a moment, then nodded as if your answer pleased her. "Alright."

Percy's expression turned angry. "Seriously? You're going to let her take the blame? She wasn't even part of our argument!"

"She wants it!" Annabeth yelled.

"Just to keep us from arguing!" Percy yelled back.

"I've had it with you!" Annabeth shouted, then stomped off back to the cabins.
