Ryan's POV
"What the....  How can you let them do that?
Roy I trusted you with the deal.... No, not a word.
I don't want any excuses, just tell that man that he's fired and to never show me his face again, you get that?... Ok fine."
I hung the call with Roy, my assistant and a very close friend.
The project manager had done a mess ,due to which I just lost a very important deal.
These people can be so stupid, idiots.... not a thing they can do without my supervision.
Stephen has always been too lenient with them...
But after I became the CEO of our Shipping company since he looks over the Airline and  Construction companies , I've almost fired 10 of them every month.
All are just so useless!
I was in my room working on the laptop, when I heard a knock on the door.
"Yes... Come in." I answered casually.
"Hey.. How are you doing?"
Mama Rosy entered with a big smile on her face which faded once she saw that I was boiling with anger.
But I can never be angry on her she's my lifeline.
After my mother she has always been there for me.
"Mama, I'm good and how many times have I told you...
You don't need to ask my permission or knock to enter my room?"
I asked jokingly, trying to lighten my mood .
"A lot of times, I guess." She smiled again.
She came and set herself next to me.
"Ryan is everything okay.... You look angry?"
"All's good mama.... Just the work load.
I'm bit  irritated. That's all." I answered.
"Okay...actually I wanted to talk to you.
That is if you're free." She said mockingly.
"Mama you know I'm always free for you and our family."
"Hmm..." she just hummed in response.
"So what's the thing?" I asked giving her my full attention.
"I wanted all of us to go on a vacation." She said almost in a whisper.
"Okay mama, just tell me the place I'll book tickets for you'll."
"Ryan, you just heard me... I said all of us." She said sternly.
"Mama I'm busy." I replied pointing towards my files stacked on the table.
"Tell me, when you are not?" She questioned getting angry.
That's the only reason I give her whenever she ask me to go out.
"Ahh ....." I tried to say something but she cut me off.
"I don't want to hear anything. Can't you just, for once listen to my wish." She continued again.
"And I discussed about work with Stephen.
He said it can be postponed." I could hear soft whispers outside my door when mama was talking.
Now I get their plan.
"So everything is already decided." I said raising my eyebrows.
"Can't you just do one thing for your mama?
Is work more important than your family?" She was now giving me a sad look.
"Of course not. And please stop emotional blackmailing me."
I said, now confirmed that they all were waiting outside my room, just to hear me say the 'yes'.
"Ok fine I'll tell Stephen to cancel all the tickets." Wow!! Such an actor she is.
I could hear everyone gasp outside my door.
"So really everything is planed, already.... without me knowing??"
"Mmm..." she just ignored my question... Looking elsewhere.
"Okay, I'll come." I said almost unsure of my words.
"Really???" She jumped in surprise.
I could hear Anna and Heidi (my sister) laughing and Stephen trying to quieten them.
"Hmm....
So go ahead start packing.
Wait I'll help you." She got up, going towards my closet.
I instantly caught her wrist and made her sit again, cautiously.
"Hey relax mama....."
"I can't, tomorrow morning is our flight." She said in a hurry.
"What?? No!"
‎"Yes... Don't worry everything is planed." There she is.
"‎Where are we going?"
"‎Ahh...
‎t...to our farm house at your papa's native village." She stuttered.
"‎Mama I can't go there."
‎"Why not?"
‎I didn't say anything so she continued again.
"‎Because that place reminds you of your papa?
‎And that he is no more with us??
Ryan, you need to move on....
Just think, how will he feel that we no more go to his favourite place. He had built that house for his children,
so that when we aren't alive you always remember us and feel our presence there.." I could see tears collecting in her eyes.
"Mama, I really miss him." I went on my knees and rested my head on her lap.
‎"I know... that's why I want you to go there...so you can be my little boy again who loved to roam  like a lost puppy in the village and your papa used to search you everywhere just to find you sleeping at your tree house.
You remember your tree house next to the river?" She said softly patting on my head.
‎"Something I will never forget." I closed my eyes and all the images of good days came back to my mind.
‎My papa, Mr. Alex Smith George, he was a good man. No one can love their family as dearly as he did.
‎He was and still is my hero. Everything I have learnt is all from him, bussiness to family, cracking the impossible deals to making his company well know in the cooperate world.
He was just awesome in whatever he did.
‎He always supported and loved me like his own son.
It has been 5 years since his death. He died in a Plane Crash living all of us devastated.
Tears made their was to my eyes but I never let them out...I never cry.
Sometimes when you have lost to much, tears can't take away the pain.
