Sometimes I'm just silent
Not because I'm wrong
The things you say are so painful that I can't even gather any words....

Ambily's POV

I have been sleeping for the whole evening since Mr. Intense left.
'God....I will lose my mind if I sleep more.'
But what could I do so late at night.
Mr. Intense is fast asleep on the couch. He must be very tired.
I decided to sit in the garden for some fresh air.
As soon as I opened the door chilling breeze hit straight on my face.
Instinctively I wrapped a blanket around myself and sat at the edge of the pool in the garden, gazing at the night sky.
The stars twinkled like never before.
It always calms me when I look at the black sky with so many stars.
They are like the happy moments in ones life.
They may look small in the stretch of the large black sky, when seen from far away.
But if you actually understand their depth they are greater than the darkness which surrounds them.
When I was a child, every year we would visit our grandmother's village.
We would sit together outside while she told me stories about the stars.
She always said "The person we love the most will never leave us even after death. They would turn into one of the million stars up there and watch over us."

"You were talking to someone?" I yelped listening at the voice.
Mr. Intense was standing at the doorway, looking all handsome in his messed up hair and dreamy eyes.

"Ehh

"Ehh... No.. I mean yes." He raised his eyebrows at me.
Ambily gather yourself girl.
"I was talking ..to myself...you were sleeping..I was tired because I was sleeping... before ...and you were out.. And... Okay.. That's what happened.. I think so...."
I scrambled all the words together.
"Okay, calm down."
He came, standing near me.
"It's freezing out here." he started rubbing this palms together.
"You can share my blanket... If you want... I mean..."
Shut up girl!
I should shut my mouth before I embarrass myself more.
"Yes, of course." He sat beside me wrapping half of the blanket around himself.
We were sitting so close that I could even smell his scent.
A bizarre feeling went through me making me warm from inside.
"So Miss Crygirl talks to herself." I was lost in his presence, it took me few seconds to realize he was talking to me.
"Ohh God.. Why do you call me Crygirl?"
'By the way it's cute...' I wanted to add. Ambily, enough girl!
I need to slap myself for this, later.
"Hey, no taking offense.
I never stopped you when you address me as Mr. Intese." He said.
"I told you already that's the first thing which had crossed my mind when I first saw you." I explained again.
"Well, this is the first thing which came to my mind when I saw you."
"Hmm... Agreed.
Wait you think I'm a crybaby now."
He gave his signature smirk.

"It's so beautiful out here." I changed the topic before it becomes too uncomfortable,
Which always happens when I talk to him and he smirks.
"Hmm..." He hummed taking a deep breath.
"So how was it ?" He questioned.
"Ahh??" I gave him a confused look.
"I mean talking to yourself...
If you don't mind, I would like to hear what conversation you had with yourself." He said with a straight face.
"You're making fun of me?" I knew he was smiling.
"No, I'm not." He looked the other way.
Congrats Ambily!! Now he must be thinking I have no brain up there.
We sat silently staring at the sky.

"You see the star next to the moon

"You see the star next to the moon.. the third one.. she's my grandmother." I said pointing my finger towards it.
He gave me a puzzling expression.
"Don't look at me like that.
Like 'is-this-girl-crazy ' expression.
When I was small my grandma told me that our loved ones after death, they guide and protect us in the form of a star." I explained.
"And you still believe in this?
You doctors believe in facts, don't you? " He questioned.
"We do.
But...you know, sometimes facts don't matter...it's either you believe in something or you just don't.
And I believe she is still there with me in all  forms.. But looking at the stars makes me more aware of her presence."
I waited to know what he thinks about it.
But he didn't speak.
I turned looking at him.
His head was bowed low, eyes closed tightly.
He opened his eyes and looked straight into mine.
They say eyes reflect the feeling in your heart, his were reflecting pain.
I took hold of his hand to comfort him.
"You can tell me." I whispered softly.
"My mother...you think she's watching me?
Is she happy up there?"
He has a mother who's alive...then why does he say that?
"But your mother is alive..."
Before I could complete he said,
"She's my aunt, my mother died when I was small.
She left me to mama a day before her death."
So this is the wound which never healed and still hurts within him.
"She never left you, Ryan. She's always besides you.
The pain of losing her is so strong that you can't feel her presence in your heart"
"And I know for sure, she's very happy with the person you have become now.
But she will never be fully happy if she's the reason you feel hurt."
"And your mama, you even love her.
You think she isn't sad when she sees you missing your mother?"
He diverted his gaze away from me.
I cupped his face and made him look into my eyes again.
"Ryan.. You love your family but they will always feel left behind when they see you in pain.
Your mama, she must be feeling that she didn't love you enough because you still miss your mother."
He was silent for the whole time.
We stayed still not moving for a few minutes looking at each other.
"Thank you." He said, still looking at me.
His eyes shone with a different emotion.
The stars were now shining in his eyes.
"Thank you..." He kissed my cheek and hugged me.
Before I could react he got up and ran downstairs.

He was happy

He was happy. The child his mother had left behind, just returned but this time he wasn't only sad to lose his mother but moreover happy to find a new family.
