Ambily's POV
I cried the whole night after the incident with my father.
It was 8 in the morning and I was still on my bed sitting with my knees bent against my chest.
My face was sticky from the tears which made their way to my eye everytime I thought about marrying Peter.
I don't know why ...
but I can't get myself to obey my father, this is the first time I've ever said 'no' to him, never in my entire life, I thought I would do this....
"Am I being a bad daughter??" I asked out loud to no one in particular.
"No... You are not." I heard a voice coming from the other end of my room.
"Rhea.. " I saw her coming towards me, tears again pooled in my eyes.
"Ohh... " She came running and hugged me tightly.
"Please don't cry." She cooed in my hair.
"Rhea.. d.. dad he... " I tried to speak between my swabs.
"Shuu... I know everything." She said rubbing my back gently.
I pushed myself away from her to look in her eyes.
"Your mother told me everything... It's not your fault so please don't."
Saying this, she wiped my tears with her thumb.
"I don't want to marry him.. And today evening is my engagement...Rhea I can't do this." I said sitting up straight on my bed, she sat next to me.
"I have a plan ...but for that you need to listen to me." She said almost in a whisper.
"What is it??" I was totally confused and a little nervous too.
You can't trust her when she has a plan.
"First you need to trust me!!" I had never seen her so serious.
"Yeah... But I won't promise." She just ignored my sentence.
"We can avoid this situation, you don't have to get engaged with Peter and you can even attend the camp." She said slowly.
"And how's that going to happen??" I asked impatiently.
"We can escape away from here.. " She said confidently.
"How are we gonna do that? And where are we going to stay?
We don't even have friends who'd take the risk...And your family won't lie to my father... "
I can't believe she's suggesting me this.
"Will you just stop rambling and listen to me." She scolded me.
"Hmm..."
"The safest place is behind the back of your father... " she explained.
"What???" Now I'm surely loosing my mind.
"Since your father knows about the camp he won't think you'll hide there...
so he won't be searching for you at the camp and hence you're safe till you want to return." She was proud of her plan.
"Now I get it.. But how will we escape, the guards are all around the house."
It was impossible to get away with the guards 24/7 keeping an eye on you.
"So I take that as a 'yes' from you for the plan and about the guards, we'll have to figure that out."
Her index finger was on her temple showing that she was thinking hard.
"By that time, common start packing."
"But the tickets??"
She just smirked, folding her hands on her stomach.
"You mastermind !!" I should have know, Rhea the great won't do anything in air.
"Start packing love..."
She opened my closet and started taking out the hanged clothes.
I gathered my other important stuff.
"Here ..put them in, brush, soap, toothpaste, shoes,....what else??" She was standing near the bed and I was facing her, my back towards the room door.
Suddenly she dropped my clothes with the hangers, staring straight.
"What happened? "I asked.
Her look was that of shock.
"Behind you... " She pointed her finger straight.
"Whose ther..e"
I turned 180 degrees to see my mom standing on the doorway, I swallowed all my words.
"Mom??" She came towards me, tears in her eyes.
Her eyes were swollen from constant crying.
"I'm sorry mom." I sat down on my knees, tears pricking in my eyes.
"Don't be... First time you're doing something for yourself." She came and knelt beside me. I hugged her tightly.
"Mom... I'm sorry... I tried to be a perfect daughter."
"Yes sweetheart... And you succeeded in that."
She pulled away and cupped my face with her palms.
"Do what you think is right and I will support you.... Always."
"Mom we're going to.. "
"No need to tell me, I trust you. Just know...whenever you want to return we are there for you."
Tears rolled down my cheeks and she also started crying.
"Mom...what about dad?" I asked wiping my tears.
"Ambily dear, your father loves you a lot, that's why he's protective towards you.
He doesn't even realize when he started controlling your life but when he does, he will let you be."
"Mom, take care of dad and yourself."
"Will do." I hugged her again.
"As much as I don't want to interrupt.. but we have only one hour left."
Rhea did interrupt.
I got up from the floor, so did mom.
"The guards??" I asked her again.
"I Can help with that..." Mom said smiling nervously.
"‎Yesss..." Rhea shouted.
‎"What's the plan mom." I asked facing her.
"I will go in the kitchen and pretend to slip and fall.
When the guards come to help me you can escape easily."
‎"Wow!! Mastermind mom ..."
Rhea clapped her hands like a 5 year old child on Christmas, getting gifts.
‎As said, after 10 minutes we heard mom scream and all the guards rushing towards the kitchen.
‎Once all was clear Rhea gave me signal to come out.
‎I picked my bag and took a look at my room... "Is escaping from the problems the best thing to do?" I questioned myself.
‎"Avoiding the situation till the right time comes, is the best you can do."
Rhea said from behind me.
‎"Can you read my mind?" She just ignored my question.
"‎We need to hurry up."
‎We both ran out of the house, being careful not to be caught.
Rhea's driver was waiting for us who drove us to the airport.
In the car Rhea warned him not to tell anyone...
My mother would see that no one checks on me atleast for a day. Most of the things were sorted.
"Rhea, what if they track my passport details and phone?"
"This will be the last question I'm answering for today.
About them tracking you....don't worry I have a friend at the airline reception and your phone.... you forgot it at home."
"No I didn't... I have it.." I was checking my jeans pocket.
"I don't have it!!" I shouted.
"Shuu...we don't want anyone to notice us..." she left my phone in the house.
Soon we checked in and boarded our flight.
I could see the buildings becoming smaller and smaller as the plane took it's height.
I promise myself I won't regret for the decision I made.
I will be a new Ambily....soon.
The way I wanted to be, free from all bondings which kept me chained, no pretending to be sophisticated...just be the real me.
