ROGUE WADED into the lake, the water lapping gently around her waist. The Glen was quiet, with all the girls asleep in the Lodge, leaving the night to just her and Ada.

Rogue glanced back at Ada, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "It's deep. Watch you don't drown," she teased.

Ada laughed softly. Her skin glistened, a dewy sheen reflecting the silvery light. Her hair, loose and curly, followed her every movement.

Ada caught Rogue's eye and smiled, creating dimples in each of her cheeks. Slowly, she reached for the hem of her shirt, lifting it over her head in one fluid motion.

Rogue turned, cupping her hands and washing the water over her face, wondering if Ada had wanted her to watch.

Ada tossed her shirt aside and stepped into the lake, the water rippling as she moved closer to Rogue. The cool water glistened on her skin as she waded in deeper. Rogue knew if she looked, she could never tear her eyes away.

"Good thing I can swim, then," Ada eventually responded.

"Yeah?" Rogue replied, splashing a handful of water at Ada. "What about now?"

The water arced through the air, droplets catching on Ada's skin. She gasped in mock outrage, her eyes widening as she splashed back, sending a small wave towards Rogue.

"You're such a dick," she laughed, the sound blending with the gentle pattern of the lake.

Rogue wiped the water from her eyes. "Am I?" she taunted.

She splashed Ada again, more forcefully this time, her amusement in Ada's reaction. The water around them churned with their movements.

Rogue felt a warmth spread through her, and she couldn't remember the last time she felt so carefree.

After a particularly well-aimed hit, Ada lunged forward, grabbing Rogue's arms to prevent her from splashing any more.

They laughed, their faces close, breaths mingling in the cool night air. For a moment, the world seemed to narrow down to just the two of them, the lake, and the moon.

Rogue's heart raced, Ada's touch sending tingles through her skin.

"Are you flirting with me?" Ada asked, her voice a whisper against the night.

Rogue froze, glancing quickly between her eyes and her lips.

"Maybe," she responded, breathless. "How am I doing?"

"Not bad," Ada said softly, and Rogue felt her chest untighten.

Rogue smiled. "I've been practicing," she replied, her tone equally soft.
