I was wearing travel clothes, warm boots, a scarf, a cloak, and some warm clothes, I don't have to bundle up as much as Luna does, who has to bundle up a lot, I wish I could bring Avi, but she has a bad cough, which does not mix with the cold, so we were off, we travel through the portal system, which feels amazing, Luna looks doubtful and she fiddles with her cloak "What's wrong?" I ask, she blinks at me and says
"I'm just so nervous! Will the snow be dirty or anything" I sigh, I totally forgot she's a girly girl, she's really nice, but it can be her weakness
"Maybe, I don't know, we're gonna ride on a reindeer drawn sled though"
She brighten at this, I guess it sounds elegant, I guess I should summon one of those fancy ones with the tops, maybe a carriage,
"What's it look like?"
"Depends on what deer we get, some are stronger than others"
She nods and goes back to floating towards the portal and everything turns white and we find ourselves in the middle of a white, cold, snowy area, I look around to see bearberries here and there, this was my home, I remember it like it was yesterday, it's beautiful. Now, time to get to business, I whistle a loud whistle and graceful creatures fly down from the sky, two muscular deer plop down in front of way carrying a carriage, the one with the blue velvet seat cushions and flannel blankets, the reindeer stop and I feed them carrots I fish out from my bag, they eat it and then I hop into the carriage, to see Luna there wrapped in a flannel blanket, drinking hot chocolate which must've been set out already, it looks good so I take a few sips of it, to find it the perfect temperature, even for people who don't have weather elements, it tastes good, not as good as mothers, but really good, I can see Luna enjoys it because she's taking dignified sips of it, what a princess, I smile and turn away, in a way, I admire her, she's poised and pretty, but ready for action, I've learned never to underestimate her, even if she looks like a princess. The ride gets bumpy and I remember the bumps on our sled when me and Amber took it out, I relish the memory then push it away, memories like that only lead to sad ones for me, the carriage halts and I realize we're at the castle, I take a look at the beautiful white castle, it's amazing, and my future home, Luna nods, not as impressed I am, I guess she prefers her own castle, I guess we all feel that way no matter how nice it is, we just try to make ours sound the nicest, I can't really explain the castle, all I can say is it doesn't look like Elsa's castle, it's better, the northern lights burst through the sky and I smile, I had so many fond memories here, might as well explore it, we travel through the main entrance and I see the ice fall at the end, it's so majestic, and I love it, Luna, once again seems impressed, I have to bite back a retort, she was being a bit unfair, but whatever, suddenly I have an epiphany, I know where it is! Where I felt the strongest
"Follow me!" I call to Luna and I run off and she tries to follow me, I fly up the stairs and go to the greenhouse, the only room where normal flowers would grow, I see something on a water lily in a pond, I grab it, it was a circlet and a necklace! Both were made out of amber, they were gorgeous, amber matches my personality, it's so pretty, until it traps you, (I'm talking about the formation) And what I mean by pretty is me being a girl, not blowing my horn, just putting it out there. I look at it fondly and all the sudden, we get teleported back, I fall onto my bed, and I see what day it was 'October 2!' we'd been gone a whole week! I slump on my bed and find a note in nice handwriting, I read it, it says
Dear Hazel,
You were out for three days! I hope you don't mind the pjs you're wearing... I chose them, I hope you enjoy your day! Meet us at the arcade

I look down to see a fancy nightgown with flowers on it, great, flowers, I trudged down to the arcade, where I saw Amber staring at a stuffed fire phoenix inside one of those claw things, she looked to Luna and said
"Hey, It's time to get tokens." She motioned towards me and Luna smiled, then she frowned at my casual ripped jeans (Not my fault, I got caught in some thorns and I hadn't been able to mend them yet) And my button up shirt, I understood why she was frowning when I saw her glimmering armor, shield, and sword, she seemed to be ready for something dangerous. Amber starts to open her mouth but then Jem cuts her off,
"Not yet Amber, we've got to talk to Hazel about the exams coming up, they announced them while you were out"
I felt a surge of anxiety as she motioned for me to sit down on a table, everyone else sat down next to me, eyes glimmering with concern
"So..." Arianna began "After this break we're doing these exams called maze exams, basically all students get let out into this giant maze... And it's really hard... But yeah" I nod, getting a bit excited
"How long does it take?"
Luna cringed "Probably three or four days, and you have to find food and everything" To me, that wasn't bad, I'd actually ran away from a foster home and lived out in the woods for a week, me and Amber, but it was probably hard for her, being pampered her whole life.
"No biggie" I shrug, Luna looks even more nervous, her perfect blond hair frizzing, her martin curls up on her shoulder, that martin is always with her, because it can be, I would take Avi everywhere, but she's a fox and can't fit on my shoulder, I wish she could though
"Are we allowed to use powers" Luna sighed dramatically
"Well I mean we can, not to summon food or new sets of armor." Amber and I shrugged, once again, no big deal, everyone else seems fine with it too. A bell rings and Luna, who seems like she's about to fall apart whines.
"It's time to go out to the courtyard" We all head out and all the sudden, we fall.
