Charlie finally fell asleep after midnight. I never had a chance to hunt all day because it seemed he was always around.
The fire in my throat was getting very unbearable. I'm surprised since I'd only had that one man. I threw open my window, surprised when it didn't make a sound. I'd hate to wake Charlie up.
I jumped outside my window, landing softly in the grass. This is awesome! I'd just need to get used to not making sounds. No wonder James and Victoria always seemed to sneak up on me.
I ran into the woods next to my dad's house. As soon as I knew for sure that I wouldn't be seen, I took off at full speed.
After a while, I decided to stop and sniff out something. Anything. Then I smelled it.
I let my senses take control as I followed the scent. I made sure to be careful, so that I wouldn't be noticed.
Finally I found the source of the smell. There was a small herd of deer, only about seven. When I attacked the one closest to me, their ears perked up. When they noticed my presence, they took off.
I finished draining the one I had, before dropping it. Then I went after another. It was fun chasing them, and it was fun catching them.
After I had finished draining the second one, I dropped it too. I chased a third one just for good measure.
The deer were ok, I got full quickly, but I wasn't fully satisfied. I guess I can now say I'm a vegetarian vampire!
I wiped my mouth and returned home. I climbed up to my window carefully, and got inside, shutting my window behind me.
Now to worry about school in the morning. Would they like me? I know I'd lived here once, but I honestly don't remember anyone! Would they even remember me?
I doubt it, I'd changed so much. To keep myself calm, I decided to organize my room slowly. When I was finished making everything nice, I picked out the clothes I could wear for school.
I heard Charlie stirring in his room, and quickly laid down in my bed. Time to fake sleep I thought. A few minutes later his alarm went off.
I heard him grumble as he shut it off. Then he made his way slowly to the bathroom, taking a shower. I looked over at my clock. It was 5:20 in the morning.
Time seemed to pass by so quickly! Once he was finished with his shower and had put his uniform on, I heard him walk towards my room.
I breathed in slowly to make him think I was actually asleep. He opened my door, checking on me. He stood there a while longer than he needed to, before he closed the door softly.
When he was downstairs, I heard him start up the coffee maker. Once finished, he poured himself a cup.
Then he pulled out a newspaper to read while he drank his coffee. I heard him set his cup in the sink, then shut the front door once he was done.
School didn't start until eight, but I still needed to find it. I also needed to find all my classes. It was 7:15 when I decided to put a pair of jeans on and my new converse. Then I put one of my new shirts on.
At the door, I put my rain coat on. Normal people wore them when it rained. I really didn't need it, because it wouldn't bother me. But I might get weird stares without one.
It was foggy out, and drizzling a bit. It wasn't bad out, really. I reached for the house key and locked up.
I hurriedly got into my new truck. The inside had obviously been cleaned up, but it still smelled of tobacco, gas, and peppermint.
