Martha and Bryan Stewart are twins. The only problem is, they look nothing alike.

Martha has brown eyes and red hair, while Bryan has blue eyes and blonde hair.

But, on the other side, they looked plenty alike. The twins lived in Phoenix their whole lives. They dealt with the sun, and the heat.

I, on the other hand, lived in Forks. Living where it rained and was covered in clouds all the time caused me to never tan.

So, even though I moved to Phoenix, I was still paler than everyone here. Everyone but the twins.

The twins were pale white. Each of their features looked like they were out of a style magazine. They were both more beautiful than any of the other students at our school.

But for some reason no one seemed to notice them. That is, until I met them in biology. Or more accurately, they noticed me first.

"Hey, Bella!" I heard a girl speak. Her voice was beautiful. Kind of like music.

I spun around and saw a boy and girl about my age staring at me. They were smiling, so I decided to be nice and smile back.

"H..hi!" I stammered.

"I'm Bryan, and this is my twin Martha. We're fraternal twins, so we look nothing alike." the boy spoke up. His voice was like the soft tinkling of bells.

How was it possible for any person to sound and look this beautiful? I wondered to myself.

"Oh!" I spoke realizing they were waiting. "What was it you said?" I was beginning to turn red. How embarrassing!

"I asked if you'd like to sit with us at lunch and in class... if you want to, that is." Martha spoke.

"Yeah, sure!" I replied happily. Mom would be glad to know I finally made friends.

"Umm, would you two like to come over for dinner tonight?" I asked.

Martha shook her head no, and Bryan spoke before I had a chance to react.

"It'd have to be another time, our parents would like to know in advance. If that's ok? I'm sure your mom would be happier if she had a days notice." He spoke reasonably. I had no choice but to agree.

The bell rang for lunch at that moment. "Ready?" they asked together. I nodded and we walked together to my locker.

Their lockers were right next to mine, so it didn't take long to get to the lunchroom. They went and found a table while I waited in line to get my lunch.

Martha and Bryan returned to get their lunch. Once they had paid, we walked over to the table. The one they picked was in the farthest corner from the windows. I hadn't really noticed what was weird about it.

As I ate, they talked about their family. A little about siblings who were older than them. Grandparents that had passed, and embarrassing moments.

Their family definitely seemed more fun than mine. I even told them I wished I could live with them. They looked at each other sadly but said nothing.

The bell rang and we realized we needed to get to class. We were the last ones there! When I dumped my tray, and they dumped theirs, I noticed they hadn't touched a thing.

"I'm sorry I didn't talk more!" I blurted out.

"Why would you say that?" Bryan asked. He seemed really curious about what would make me say that.

"Because you guys hadn't eaten a thing..."

"Oh, it's alright. We'll eat something later. We have snacks in our bag." He replied.

"Alright," I said. I still didn't feel all that much better though. But I let it go.

"Hey mom! Phil!" I said once I got home.

"Hey Bella!" Phil replied. "How was school? You certainly seem to be in a great mood," he commented.

"Um, yeah. I made new friends today. They're twins."

"Oh honey, that's great!" mom replied while smiling. I think she's finally relieved I even talked to anybody at school that wasn't a teacher.

"Do you think they can come over for dinner sometime?" I asked.

"Yeah! Ask them about Saturday. Ok?" mom answered. Then she said, "Bella, I have something to tell you!"
