TONY

I lost Natasha about five minutes away from Peter's apartment block, stuck in some street festival. The fire escape leads directly into his apartment so I drop down slowly onto the stairs and, after a quick warning call, I blow it off it's hinges.
'Peter? Kid, you in here?' I shout, moving quickly through the house, pushing open doors as I past them.
'Pete?' I shout as I get to the end of the corridor and look left into the kitchen. Peter is crouched in the corner, head buried in his arms. He's covered in blood and shaking like crazy. His Aunt May lies on the floor, long hair spread out around her and her clothes drenched in her own blood.
I step out of my armour and instantly go to kneel down beside Peter and place my hand on his shoulder. At first I can't get him to move but out of nowhere he just falls into me, let's me put my arms around him as he stays with his eyes covered, sobbing and shaking. It hurts like nothing I've ever felt before to see him like this, to know how much he's lost.
'Bring her back.' He says in a muffled voice as he clutches onto my shirt. 'Please.' I rest my head on top of his, and clench my eyes shut, wishing I could do as he asked. Instead I stay quiet because I know he knows that I can't do that. And nothing I can say will help. So I just make sure to hold him tight and stop him from seeing his Aunt any more than he has to.
'Tony?' Natasha's voice comes from down the corridor. 'Tony, you here?' She appears in the doorway and freezes, 'Is this...?' She asks, trailing off at the end. I nod and she turns away for a moment, hand supporting herself as she clutches to the kitchen counter, and then all at once she turns around, fully composed. 'I'll call investigators, tell them to come ASAP. I can call Pepper, let her know. Do you think it's an avengers matter?'
'Call Pepper, Thank you, but leave the avengers for now. We already have a few at the compound, if we need them we'll call.' I say, Peter still refusing to look .
'I'll clear the building and wait outside for the investigators.' Natasha says, giving me a single last look showing her regret for this situation.
After she leaves I find myself staring at May. I can't look away. I had so much respect for her, still do, she raised a child that wasn't hers on her own in New York with a small income at best. Peter put her in difficult positions for sure, what with the whole Spider-Man business, but she handled it well.
'Alright Pete.' I say, propping him up, but he still clings to me, 'I'm going to take you back to mine, okay? You going to stay with me for a while.' He doesn't react, just stays as he is.
'It appears he's gone into shock.' FRIDAY says through my earpiece, 'Perhaps a tranquilliser?' My suit moves towards me and a syringe pops out of the arm. I take it reluctantly as Peter starts shaking more and more.
'I'm sorry Pete. I'm so sorry.' I say, as he sees what I'm about to do and fear locks in his eyes, he throws himself to Aunt May and clutches at her. I push the syringe into his shoulder as gently as I can and t comes into effect almost immediately. He turns towards me and fresh tears run down his face as he holds onto Aunt May's hands.
'Why is this...' He starts, his voice starting to slur, 'I can't do this without...' he has a small sob before his eyes start fluttering shut, 'I don't want to do this.' He says, before he passes out and I catch him in my arms.
I hold him lightly, his head draped over my arm. He's so young and has lost so much already. 'You're okay.' I say, nodding to myself, 'you'll be okay.'
