Spider-Man joins the avengers

Part 15

Natasha and Clint poke their heads round my door to tell me that they're going back to Peter's apartment, to get a better idea of who could have done this. They tell me Steve's still unable to move but can just about talk. Tony's with him at the moment, getting information.
I sit back on my bed once they've left and double tap my watch to bring up a hologram. Projected in 3D is Peter's apartment, after the murder of his Aunt. I step into the hologram and walk around, checking for anything I might have missed the first five times I've looked at it.
A shout comes from the corridor and I run out, pulling my watch up and over my hand to make a gun. MJ lies against the wall, not moving and Ned is holding his hand to his head, bleeding. He points to Peter's room and I run in.
A woman stands above Peter, hitting him over and over. He doesn't look phased, like he's in a dream. I go to shoot her but she turns around just as I do, staring at me and smiling.
'Well,' She says, dropping the metal bar she was using to hit Peter, 'I believe I have found the mourning princess of Wakanda.'
I raise my gun but hesitate, 'what?' I ask, playing along to her game.
'Oh? So you don't know yet? You better check with Tony. Anyway, I've got places to be.' And before I can react, she's disappeared, past me and out the door, too quick.
'Peter? You okay?' I ask, dropping to my knees beside the broken Peter. Both of his legs and one arm is bent out of shape and his face is bruised beyond recognition, but his eyes flutter open and he stares at me.
'Let me go.' He mutters, looking past me, 'let me go. I want to go.'
Tony runs in in his suit. He steps out when he sees Peter on the floor.
'Jesus Kid. What happened?' He asks desperately.
'I want to go. Let me go.' Peter moans rolling to one side. Tony leans back for a moment, taken aback.
'Not today kid. Not today.' He picks Peter up and starts to carry him out the room.
'Tony.' I say before he leaves, 'my mother. Is she dead?'
'I...you should call your brother.' He says.
'Is my mother dead?' I persist.
'I'm sorry kid.' Is all he says.
