The Drive

Jake starts the car as Colby walks outside
Colby looked at me with fear and I just looked away.
We pulled out and started to drive away from the house.
There was scilence for a while and the air was tight.
"Jake-" I stuttered but cut myself off.
"May, listen, I'm sorry-" He began to explain when I cut him off
"Its not your fault-" He cut me off back.
"May, do you really believe that its not my fault? Do you really believe that you kissing me was your fault? Can't you see that I was so dumb to try to be with you?" Jake explains with tears coming down his eyes.
"I am so pathetic." Jake said with a straight face but tears were coming down.
"Park." I told him
He looked at me for a second and back at the road.
"Park Jake." I told him again.
He pulled to the side of the road and put it in park.
He looked at me with confusion.
I wipes his tears off of his face and looked at the bruse from Colby.
Jake didnt fight it. He just let me look.
I held his face looking at the bruse and wiping more of his tears off.
"How bad is it?" He asks.
"Its not so bad." I tell him
"Does it hurt when I touch it?" I ask him.
"No, not really." He responds.
I look at his eyes for a moment.
He looks back.
"Jake. Its my fault I want to kiss you now." I whisper.
"Its my fault I will let you." He responds with a smirk.
I smile and kiss him. His lips were wet and salty from his tears.
We kissed for a good 8 seconds and he finally pulled away.
We didnt say anything as he started to drive again.
I turned up the radio.
Jake and I started to sing and laugh as we pulled up to my neighborhood.
Jake parked the car outside of my house. I unbuckled my seat belt and looked at him.
He was looking at the house.
"Hey Jake?" I half whisper.
He turned to me with a bit of worry on his face.
"Do you want to come in?" I ask with a grin
Suddenly his face grew a smile.
