"Lieutenant? It's me, Connor."

The Android slapped Hank Anderson's face with force, hoping that it would be more effective than the gentle pat.

He had entered his house to find the man unconscious due to alcohol consumption.

Hank's eyes rolled back into his head as he came around. The first thing he saw as his lids parted was the outline of another person looming over him.

As his eyes adjusted, he realised that it was in fact Connor.

The Android put his arm around the Lieutenant and walked him over to the bathroom. Hank was unstable. Every step he took looked as though he would fall and pass out again.

Connor sat him down on the bathroom floor.
"I was going to say that we've been called to a job," he started, "but I don't think it's worth us going when you're in this state."

Hank didn't even reply. He just rubbed his temples, regretting the amount of whisky that he had consumed.

Connor turned on the warm water and began filling a bath. He put a squirt of shower gel, that he found laying uselessly on the side, into the running water.

Small bubbles grew across the surface of the clear water, and a pleasant aroma spread throughout the bathroom.

"Let's get you out of those clothes." Connor said, tugging at the bottom of the Lieutenant's alcohol stained T-shirt.

Hank allowed Connor to undress him, aware of a towel being wrapped around his waist to protect his dignity as his underwear came down.

He let himself be pulled off the floor, the Android holding his shoulders for stability. Once he found his feet, he stepped into the bathtub.

The hot water was soothing and worked miracles in sobering him up. He felt his muscles relax and head begin to clear.

"Here," Connor pushed a glass of water into the man's hand.
"Drink this."

Hank sipped at the cold water for a few seconds before allowing himself to sink deeper into the bath, the bubbles engulfing his body.

Connor knelt beside him in the bath and reached across to grab a shampoo bottle. He emptied a generous amount into his hand and waited for the man to sit up.

Hank sat himself up and looked at Connor's hand, blinking slowly, wondering whether the Android was really about to wash his hair for him.

The Android wasted no time and lathered Hank's hair in the sweet smelling shampoo, massaging it in with his fingertips.

The man closed his eyes and groaned, the sensation was relaxing and nearly sent him to sleep again.

Connor rinsed the bubbles and gently rubbed the moisture from his hair with a small towel before standing up and adjusting his tie.

"I suggest that you get dry and then go to bed. It wouldn't be safe to leave the house and try to work."
Connor ended with a sympathetic smile, before turning and leaving the bathroom.

Connor walked across the hallway into the Lieutenant's bedroom. He sat on the edge of the bed, hands in his lap, and waited for Hank.

The man walked in, nodding at Connor to show his gratitude.
"Thanks for your help." He smiled half heartedly, before plonking down onto the bed next to him, still in his towel.

The Android leant his head onto the Lieutenant's shoulder.
"You're welcome."

They sat in silence for a while, until Connor lifted his head.
"Why do you keep on drinking if it always has the same outcome?"

Hank thought for a moment before replying.
"It's an addiction, Connor. I doubt it's part of your programming... another reason why androids are better than humans."

Connor turned to face the man, putting one hand on his neck.
"But I do feel addiction," he admitted, causing the Lieutenant to raise an eyebrow.
"I'm addicted to you."

Hank rolled his eyes, trying not to grin at Connor's words. He was about to say something sarcastic, but was abruptly stopped by the Android's lips against his own.

"But seriously," Connor started as he pulled away, "please don't drink yourself into an early grave. I don't know what I'd do without you..."

He trailed off as he felt a pang of sadness and looked down into his own lap.

Hank lifted up the Android's chin to face him and looked into his deep brown eyes.
"I'll never leave you, Connor."

The Android rested his head onto the mans chest once again and closed his eyes.
"Thank you, Lieutenant."
