More Than a Silent Treatment【IDOLiSH7 Fanfiction】

♪#4: Silently Going Through Everyday

Riku woke up from a bang sound on his door. The sunlight that came in to his room indicating that it's already morning. Realizing this, Riku jumped out from his bed to the door and come face-to-face with an angry Kano as he grabbed Riku's big shirt that has been hiding his thin stature.

"You're late! I'm hungry! Can you not being a useless for once!?" Kano yelled at him.

Riku just silently starred back at Kano's eyes. After not getting any response from Riku, Kano pulled Riku's hair up, making him winced slightly from the pain. "Don't have a mouth to speak?" Kano growled as he punched Riku's gut. "Make the breakfast. Quick!"

Riku coughed before staggering to stand up while clutching his stomach and proceed to th kitchen to make breakfast for the family. His body has gone weakened due to lack of eating. 'At least, Shintarou-sama is still having a business trip overseas this month. I could sleep early without having to wait for him to come home in this week.'

While he is preparing the foods, his thought suddenly on Tenn. He smiled. He will meet his brother in a few minutes onwards. Reminding himself to endure the pain so that, Tenn wouldn't be worried over something so useless.

After he has done making the breakfast and preparing the lunch boxes for Kano and Toshiki, Riku climb up the stairs to notify the siblings that the breakfast had ready. He knocked on Kano's door first then, on Toshiki's next. Before either of them could open their door, Riku quickly enter his room for safety purposes. After he had heard the doors being slam shut and the footsteps getting further away down the stairs, Riku sighed in relief and proceed to take a bath. He wears his everyday school uniforms and the red muffler before taking his school bag and walk down the stairs, whispering silent bid to no one before walk out.

Riku smiled at the scenery in front of him. The trees had turned into an orange golden sunset. The maple leaves flying everywhere, dancing with the calm morning breeze. Riku was too engrossed by the scenery that he jumped in surprise when someone tap his shoulder from behind. He whipped around to meet a raven haired male, slightly taller than him. "Nanase-san?" he greeted.

Riku was just starred at the male and only snapped back to the reality when the male waved his hand in front of his face. Blushing, Riku quickly searched for his notepad and a pen in his back as he wrote something on it.

'Good morning, Izumi-san.' Riku greeted him back before he blinked slightly in confusion. 'How did you know my name, Izumi-san?'

Iori starred at the redhead before sighing. "So it's true that you're... mute...? You're... how do I say about this...? Uh... you're kind of popular? At school... Y-you know what I meant, right?" Iori stuttered as he looked down on his black shoes like it was the most fascinating thing. He doesn't know what to say to the redhead boy in front of him. He doesn't want to say something offensive to the redhead.

When he sensed no response from the other, he looked up to see even more fascinating scene more than his shoes. Riku smiled warmly at him, (he must have sensed Iori's attempt to not offend him) albeit a bit sad, but still beautiful. With the flying maple leaves as the background and the swaying red because of the breeze. It's such a breath-taking scene. Just like an angel in those storybooks he had read when he was still a child. Iori wondered why someone as nice as him being bullied and hated.

'Don't worry, Izumi-san. I know...'

As he read what Riku have showed to him, he felt even guilty than before. Looking at his surroundings, Riku felt that he had forgotten something as he realized that they're going to be late for school. Panicked, he grabbed Iori's hand and scrambled to the school (not before putting away his notepad), dragging Iori along with him. Iori just could only watch the pale and warm hand on his that giving him a conforting feels and let the redhead drag him to school.
