Sirius was sad again.

There were so many more emotions, but he found it easier to focus on the simplest one and work his way from there.

"Prongs...I just don't know what to do. Moony's so pissed at me, he told me to bugger off and never talk to him again. I'm an idiot! What do I do?"

James fiddled with the gold rimmed glasses on his face, the seventeen year old not as lanky as he was in first year, having filled out more and gotten more attractive. James clutched Lily's hand in his own and smiled sadly at his best mate.

"Padfoot, just talk to him. It's the full moon tomorrow so you're going to want to sort this out."

Sirius ran a hand through his wavy black hair and narrowed his grey eyes at the door that Remus had stormed out of almost an hour ago.

"You're not going to want to wait too long though,"
Lily stated with a gentle smile shining through her emerald eyes and peeking out of her lips.
"Or he'll think you don't care. I'm going to assume that he has the same mentality as a female right now because girls get once a month mood swings too, so he's going to want love. Lots of love. You need to find him and apologise. He's Moony. He can't stay mad at you forever."

Sirius smiled at Lily and hugged his friend, the girl like a sister to him. He patted James on the shoulder before bolting out of the common room and down the shifting staircases toward the main entrance of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Remus was laying beneath a tree, his anger having dissipated to an aching sadness. He couldn't believe that Sirius had said what he did. Remus knew that werewolves were aggressive, but he would never kill someone.

"Moony looks like he's about to kill someone. I mean, he is a werewolf. I wouldn't be surprised."

He meant it light heartedly, but Remus was emotional and his moods were all over the place due to the impending moon that lay only a day away.

"Moony?"

Remus shot up off the ground and stared with teary eyes at Sirius who stood before him with the same glaze on his grey eyes.

"Padfoot...how could you?"

Remus let loose one single tear, but that was it. Sirius moved forward and crouched in front of him, wiping away the droplet with rough fingers that had dirtied fingernails down to the nub.

"Remus, I didn't mean it like that. It was a joke but it was out of line. I'm so sorry."

Remus dropped his gaze to the ground and sobbed.
"I'm a monster, Black! Even you can see it!"

Sirius' eyes widened before narrowing with anger. Not at the boy in front of him, but at the evil thoughts that plagued his mind.

"Moony, do you know what I thought when I first saw you?"

Remus sniffled and kept his gaze on the grass, shaking his head.

"I thought," Sirius began with a nostalgic grin on his face. "That you were the most beautiful specimen on the planet. Even though you were gangly and odd," Sirius laughed and pushed Remus' hair from his face. "You were still the most beautiful person I had ever seen. You still are."
