In case you didn't remember, this is a modern day AU. So, Sirius is at a coffee shop with his best friends Lily and James, and their baby Harry, and he sees a beautiful, whiskey eyed man with a scar down his left cheek.

~~~~~~~
Sirius laughed quietly at his best mates endless banter. James and Lily were play fighting while Sirius held a small Harry in his hands. The boy couldn't have been more adorable, and he was almost one. Christmas was just around the corner and Sirius could feel the joy in every crevice, nook and cranny.
"James! Stop being a git and go get more coffee! That little demon never let's me sleep anymore and it's your fault!"
"How in the name of all things holy is it my fault?"
"You put it in me!"
James rolled his eyes as Sirius snorted loudly. Lily slapped James around the head and as James was rubbing his head and whinging, Sirius looked around the warm room.
The snow outside framed the windows a frosty white, the window displays showing classic literature and coffee cups with cute chalkboards stating what specials they had. The air had a lingering sugary smell, coffee and baked delicacies settling on every surface. A blanket of comfort rested atop every head in the room and everyone had smiles ranging from beaming to miniscule, but they were all still there.
Sirius was scanning the small cafe with a small smile, when he found a pair of whiskey coloured eyes looking at him, a spark of intrigue in the liquid gold of the man's eyes. Sirius blushed slightly and looked down, his black hair falling on his face as he spoke to Harry.
"He is one handsome fellow, huh?"
He spoke in a low whisper as Harry giggled and played with Sirius' hair.
Sirius looked back up to see the ghost of an amused smile on the mans lips and nimble fingers pushing sandy blonde hair off of his forehead.
"Good Lord, he is beautiful!"
Sirius whispered to Harry as Harry turned to look at the man.
All of a sudden, Harry began to reach out for the man.
"No Harry. No, you can't go to him. You don't know him."
Harry began to cry. Lily and James quit their banter lomg enough to look at their child and then at what the child was looking at. James frowned and Lily smiled at the man before grabbing Sirius' arm and dragging him over, taking Harry along with them.
"Hi there! I'm so sorry, but my child seems to be intrigued by your existence. If you don't mind, can he sit with you and my friend Sirius here?"
Lily asked boldly, her smile bright and kind.
The man blinked before smiling softly.
"Of course. My name is Remus Lupin."
"Lily Potter. This is Harry Potter and Sirius Black, and that git over there is my husband, James."
"Hey!"
"Quiet, James! Thank you so much."
Remus simply chuckled and smiled at Sirius as Lily walked away. Sirius was staring after his fiery haired friend and Remus was staring at him, almost like he was peicing together a puzzle.
Harry's chubby arms reached out to Remus and the man smiled, touching the childs hands and pulling odd faces.
"Uh...would you-would you like to hold him?"
Remus smiled at a nervous Sirius and nodded.
"If that's alright."
"Quite."
Sirius handed the child to Remus and instantaneously the boy settled, almost falling asleep at the calm feeling that the man he sat with gave off. Harry smiled lazily up at Remus before eventually nodding off and resting against Remus' chest like he had a million times before.
"He must like you. He doesn't do that with anyone but Lily, James and I."
Remus brushed dark hair from the child forehead so it wouldn't bother hin while he slept and smiled up at Sirius.
"Really? He seemed so calm. I love children, can't wait until I have one of my own."
"I would agree, but I would have to adopt. Women don't quite like me."
"I don't quite like women so we are very likely in the same boat."
The two men laughed quietly together, sort of flirting and not even realising and hinting at the fact that they are in fact homosexual. Lily and James glanced over at their sleeping child and the two men who looked like they had known each other for years and they smiled.
"Wow. That was quick."
"I don't think even we sparked that quickly."
Lily murmured against James' shoulder, stopping their banter long enough to love each other.
James grabbed Lily's hand and kissed her knuckles as the men settled into a relaxed conversation about children and relationships, still unknowingly hinting.
"I'm glad that we did spark though. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."
"Likewise, Potter."
"I love you."
Lily smiled cheekily and kissed his cheek.
"Likewise, Potter."
It was at that moment that Remus had put his phone number into Sirius' phone and the same vice versa.
