This is a modern day AU
Soulmate:
a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner
Remus didn't think he would get a soulmate. He always thought that he would be alone because he hadn't gotten any sign of anything remotely similar to when others found their soulmates.
Remus' friend Lily had found her soulmate by writing things on her hand and they came up on his. It was odd, but it was the magic of love. She always told Remus that the only thing she didn't love about James was how messy his handwriting was.
'It's indecipherable, I swear!' She would say when they went to get coffee. 'He's hopeless. I almost went to the wrong location when we were going to meet.'
Remus layed in his bed that night and stared at the ceiling. His eyes roamed the white plaster, wierdly entranced by the plain white roof, before he blinked and the scenery changed.
He was suddenly looking at a light grey roof, the light was off and little stick on stars decorated the cieling in the shape of the constellation Canis Major, the star in the position of Sirius much larger than the rest.
When he blinked again, and was transported back to his room, an alarmed cry left his mouth and he fell to the floor, flat on his face.
"Ow."
He grumbled to himself before excitement bloomed from within him and a slow smile spread across his lips."Finally."

It had been a week and Remus hadn't seen anything else. Not even a blink of a vision.
He thought about the constellations on the roof of her room. He thought about the dark blue bedsheets he saw on her bed and the phone in her hand that was displaying a twitter page. He racked his brain to remember if he saw a profile picture or anything, but it all happened so quickly, he didn't get to look.
Remus sighed frustratedly and sat on the couch, putting on the TV as show came on. He put his head in his hands. Then his eyes began to tingle. At first he thought it was tears of frustration, but then he very faintly heard a startled cry and his eyes widened. He looked around the room and grabbed a sheet of paper, but just as he grabbed a pen the tingling stopped. Remus cursed angrily and threw his hands in the air, launching the pen at the off white plaster of the wall.

Sirius was simply sitting on his couch, watching Keeping Up With The Kardashian's with a bowl of popcorn. He blinked, and then suddenly he was in a room with off white walls and Adventure Time re-runs on the screen of the television. He cried out as his head reeled, and he couldn't control what he did. All of a sudden, it came to him what was happening.
This was his soulmate.
The girl began move around the room, rushing to grab a piece of paper and rushed past a mirror to grab to grab a pen.
Sirius didn't get to see much of the reflection, just a glimpse, but this girl looks a lot like a boy.
Sirius' eyes widened and he stood up from the couch, popcorn spilling all over the hard wood flooring.
"I'm gay?!"

Remus stood in front of a mirror and looked at himself. Would he be good enough for her? Would she think he was handsome? He had a lot of scars on his face from a run in with a wolf when he was seven in Canada with his family. Would they discern her?
