Idol Survival Shows and its concept

1. Produce 101

Produce 101 is the nation's first agency-collaboration unit girl group project, which brings together 101 trainees from different entertainment companies both inside and outside of South Korea. From the 101 trainees, 11 will be selected to form a unit girl group. The unit group will perform four songs together for a year and release a debut album under the record label of CJ E&M but may later join a girl group that their agencies are planning.

2. Produce 101 S2

Produce 101 Season 2 brings together 101 trainees from different entertainment companies in South Korea, and 11 trainees are selected through audience voting to form a boy band. The group will perform for two years together under YMC Entertainment (also the label of I.O.I from Produce 101). The top 35 also performed with the winning team at a finale concert. The winning group will disband after their contracts end, allowing the members of the final lineup to return to their agencies.

3. Produce 48

Produce 48 brings together 96 trainees, of which 39 girls are from Japanese idol group AKB48 and 57 girls are from different entertainment companies in South Korea, to form a Korean-Japanese group that will promote for two and a half years. They will adopt the AKB48's concept of "idols you can meet and greet" and be able to perform in their own theatre.[3] Members of the group will be able to promote under their own agencies concurrently, as the show, and the groups' promotions thereafter, are recorded in batches.
