Chapter 13 Engagement

*Jacob's POV*

It's been two years. Two whole years of absolute bliss since the day I met him. The day I found my knight in shining armor to hold me and protect me from everything. He made my life a billion times better than anyone ever had. It's been two years since I tried to kill myself and he saved me. Two years since I finally knew I was loved and would always feel it.

Today is July 9th, 2017. It's my 20th birthday and for the first time in a long time, I feel great about celebrating it and being happy about it. All thanks to Grim. If it wasn't for him, I'd never be here. If it wasn't for him I'd never be happy or loved. And to make everything better, he planned to throw me a party with all his siblings and our friends to celebrate with us. He planned for my birthday to be special even from the beginning and it all made my heart soar.

"Goooood morning my love! I love you and guess what day it is!!!" He said while crawling on top of me.

"Haha, good morning baby. I love you too and what day is it?"

"IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

"Haha babe you're a goofball." I said while giggling profoundly.

"I know but I'm your goofball." He said while sticking his tongue out.

After the lovely morning routine, we took a soothing shower together like we always do. Him scrubbing me and me scrubbing him with a little bubble wars in between every now and then. Then we'd kiss and get out to dry each other off. Each day starting like this for two whole years.

While we got dressed, Grim was telling me about all he had planned for me this day.

"First, I made you the best breakfast ever! Again. Then we're gonna go watch the movie you wanted to see. Then we're gonna eat lunch at the restaurant you love. Then we're gonna come home for an awesomely amazing party all for you!"

With that, and a little laughter at him being dorky with hand gestures when he said best and awesomely, we went down to eat a big breakfast that was great. Grim has always outdone himself just to please me everyday and it only gets me happier. During breakfast, Grim gave me a present of a gorgeous dark silver necklace with a heart around a scythe that shined brightly. My eyes glittered with unshod tears at the beauty of the gift and the person who gave it to me. All the while, Grim just smiled dorkily with his tongue sticking out to the side and watched me be happy.

After breakfast, we watched a great movie about Atlantis and how it resurfaced. The movie was great and made better with the constant kisses me and Grim exchanged during it. He made my whole day wonderful and it only just began.

After the movie, we got out around 2:30 and headed over to an amazing restaurant named El Burrito de Dios. Despite the silly name, the place was a fancy Mexican family styled restaurant with ornaments and tables you'd see at an authentic Mexican restaurant. There where about three colors everywhere; red, green, and yellow. The tables outside had wide spread umbrellas while inside, where ceiling fans. There were two bars inside and out with baskets of tortilla chips everywhere. Also, there was a Mexican mariachi band playing in the corner inside.

Once we got seated, we ordered our usual plates. My carnitas plate, and Grim ordered his massive enchilada burrito. While waiting for the food, we talked about the movie and we made little jokes every here and there. The food came later piping hot and delicious. Grim's burrito was so massive and saucy that he had to cut it with a knife and eat it with a fork to not get too dirty. He still go somewhat dirty because he knew it made me laugh all the time.

After lunch, Grim ordered a lava cookie for me and him to share since we both loved them. Once it came out, there was a candle on top and the mariachi band started playing the tune to 'happy birthday' while the staff came over and sang it to me. It made me laugh and smile brightly because I should've known my Grim would do something like that.

"You like your day so far my love?" he asked after the song.

"Haha of course Baby. You always make every day special for me."

"I'm glad love. Now let's pay and head home for that awesome party!"

After my birthday treat and paying the bill, we headed home. I half expected to see our circular driveway empty except for a car or two because I still had some doubts about things. I was surprised to see the whole driveway filled and some cars out on the street. Putting the car in the garage, we walked to the front door and opened it to a crowd of people waiting for me.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!!!" everyone shouted at ounce while Grim hugged me from behind.

"Happy birthday my love," he whispered in my ear.

"Thank you all so much. This day has been wonderful!" And turning to Grim, "especially thank you my love. You've made every day of our time together amazing and you keep making it better."

"You're welcome Baby. But wait till you see the presents!"

"Haha ok Love."

The party was spectacular. I talked to a lot of my friends that I made over the year as well as Grim's family like Scorch, Neptune, and Aid as well as Karlie and Gracie the awesomest lesbian couple ever. Grim made everyone dinner while people were playing party games or swimming or watching soccer on TV. After dinner, was an awesomely amazing cake that was almost as big as a wedding cake and was deliciously chocolate and vanilla combined.

Once everyone had cake and were in the house around the living room, someone shouted, "PRESENTS! OPEN UP YOUR PRESENTS!"

"Haha it's ok guys. I can open them up later and send you the thank you cards."

"NO! OPEN THEM NOW!"

"O-Ok. I will."

With Grim sitting next to me and everyone getting closer to see, I started opening presents one by one. I received tons of amazing gifts like cute tee shirts and awesome bracelets as well as sweet tickets to awesome band concerts like My Chemical Romance(they got back together), Panic! at the Disco, and Bastille. Everyone ooed and awed at the amazing gifts.

After most the presents were gone, I noticed I didn't get anymore from grim while there was only one small one left. Taking it and finding no name from whom it was from, I unwrapped it and found a small velvet jewelry case that made me assume I had gotten earrings. Carefully opening it so as to not ruin the gift inside, I saw that I was completely mistaken. Inside was a beautifully stunning gold banded ring with dark silver crystals encased inside the band going all the way around. Thinking it was a joke, I looked up to see I was again proven wrong. Grim was on his knee in front of me slowly raising his hands to cup mine around the jewelry box and said the words while the whole room was dead silent.

"Jacob Right, would you do me the most wonderful and amazing honors of being my husband?"

Everything around me slowed as I processed all that was happening. He was finally doing it. Grim was proposing to me. And in front of all our friends and family!

That's when I broke. I closed the box and clutched it tightly as I jumped at Grim crying and screaming, "YES! YES! A MILLION TIMES YES! I would love to be your husband!"

With me and Grim crying and hugging on the floor, everyone else started cheering and shouting while congratulating us and being happy.
