We both walked to the dinning room table to talk things out. I sat on the right end of the table and he sat on the left end of the table.
"So, are you gonna answer my question?" My dad asked.
I stood in silence. I didn't know what to say or what to do. I'm just so- .
"Are you still afraid of me?" Once he said those words, my whole body shock. Yes, I WAS still afraid of him. I mean, after what he put me through, who wouldn't.
Back then, my mom and dad used to love each other so much, they'd do anything for each other. Until one day. My father's mother passed away and that was the only family that he had. At first, he started drinking until he got sick. Sometimes he would yell at us for no reason. He would come home late at night, with kiss marks from the neck down, his tie removed and his shirt halfway unbuttoned. He'd act like a completely different person, I couldn't stand it. Later on, we found out that my mom was pregnant with Sarah and dad was furious. He never wanted another baby, especially when he's been abusing her through her pregnancy. I guess that's why he wasn't there when Sarah was born.
"Yes," I said after flashing back. "I'm still afraid of you. You ruined my life and I'll never ... forgive you for that." I got up from my chair. As soon as I started to walk away, he asked, "Are you going to walk away from all your problems? " I stopped walking.
"No, I'm not." I started walking again, all the way back to my room.
"Ugh." I jumped on my bed, worn out from all the shock and tiredness. "When will this be over," I thought. "Oh wait. I forgot, my birthday just passed.
