"I knew you needed that luck," Michael said after listening to me about what happened two days ago.

"Yeah, but it worked itself out in the end, I guess."

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you."

"It's okay, at least you're here for me now. Kind of," I said.

"Hey, when are you coming back to school? You know Farah's really worried about you," Michael asked.

"Yes, I know. I just needed to clear my mind a little bit."

"Oh, okay. Well, I gotta go, I'll talk to you later."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye." Michael hung up. I was kind of upset when he hung up, but I knew he was busy. Then I tried to call Farah. "I hope she's still awake," I whispered.

"H-hello?" Farah asked while yoaning.

"Hey, Farah. Sorry, is it too late to call you?" I asked.

"No, no. You're fine. Wait a mintue, where have you been? You've been gone for three days straight. Well, four now," she yelled.

"Shh, you might wake my parents up. *Sign*, I've just ... been on the down side lately."

"What do you mean, 'downside?' Actually, I'm sorry, can we talk about this tommorow? I'm really tired," Farah asked.

"Yeah. Sorry, I'm kinda sleepy, too."

"You are coming back to school, right?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming back, see you later." I said.

"Bye."

I hung up. I laid on my back. I started looking through my phone at some old pictures of my mom, my dad, and me. Whenever we go to the park, he would always let me get on his back and I felt like I was flying. Then I scrolled again and I saw a picture of Sarah and me making a big heart shape out of our arms. "Sign, I wish you were here. Maybe things wouldn't have been harder that way," I whispered. I closed my eyes, slowly, and fell asleep.

The next morning, I got up slowly from my bed with the sun in my face. I didn't really want to go to school, but I have to.

"Knock, knock."

"Come in," I moaned. I started packing my stuff for school. I grabbed three books, two notebooks, my drawing book, and two folders. I stuffed it all in my light blue bookbag.

"Are you going to school today?" My mom asked as she walked into the room. I picked up my bookbag, walked to the right side of my room, and opened my closet door to pick of an outfit. I grabbed my black leather jacket, a dark red shirt, and a black skirt.

"It's hot out, aren't you going to be hot?" she asked as I grabbed my boots.

"No," I respond. I walked out of the room, so I can change in the bathroom.  I still had a grudge over my mom, I could still talk to her, but I just try to avoid her sometimes. I know she's trying to get closer to me, but I just wasn't ready for that.
