"So when I got home yesterday morning, he was pissed the fuck off. We argued for 2 hours until we both decided to be petty and ignore each other. He ended up leaving them coming back at 8 that night with flowers, chocolates, and a rented movie. So, everything is all good now. I told him that I'd be spending more time with you since I haven't these last 8 months and he actually understood" Alana said to August through the phone.

"Good cuz that nigga was gonna understand after I snatched your entire life the night before" his smooth voice said. Right now he was sitting on his couch watching the Pelicans vs. Cavaliers game.

"It was the other way around actually. You were knocked out right after" Alana said smartly as she shifted in her empty bed.

"Keep talking like that and Ima knock you out the next time I see you"

"Don't threaten me with a good time" she chuckled.

"You better keep it down or hubby is gonna hear you"

"Would you shut up? He's at work, like always" Alana rolled her eyes.

"You deserve better, you know?.....You want me to come over and make you feel better?" August asked.

"No, I already feel guilty enough but thank you"

"Nah but I'm serious. Dump that bitch ass nigga that leave you up in the house alone all the time. I can treat you better and you and I both know that" August said seriously.

"August I already told you how I feel about it senior year. It's still the same"

"Yeah, yeah. Keep feeding me that bullshit Alana. One day you're gonna wake up and realize that the nigga you need is me. But, since I'm a real nigga, I'm willing to stay by your side until you realize it"

"You never take me serious" August sighed, rolling his eyes.

"You know what? How bout this? If or when Deandre and I break up, I'll give you a chance"

"Ion like being anybody's second choice but since it's for you, I'll deal"

"Sooooo..... when's the next time we're gonna hang out bestie?"

"We can go get lunch today. I'll come pick you up at 2 and we can go eat at wherever you want"

An hour and a half later, she was ready to go on her little lunch date and August was pulling up. She stepped in his car and hugged him.

"Oouu. New wig who dis?" August said feeling on her blonde wig.

The two went to Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes, and Fries and stuffed their faces like old times, enjoying each other's company.
