(A/N): Hello to like.. the three people reading this story! I just wanna say that I appreciate you. A lot. So I hope I'm good enough for you to stick with me, because if I didn't have any readers... well... that would just be so sad! I wouldn't feel the need to write! Anyway... here's chapter 3. I hope you enjoy it.
I don't know how long I remained lying in my room, staring at the ceiling. It probably wasn't even going to be my room for much longer. Liam seemed to be giving Harry whatever he wanted, so sooner or later I was going to end up on the couch while Harry took over my room. I scowled, flipping onto my stomach and punching my mattress. Just lying on my bed was already beginning to get tiring, and I needed to get my angry mind to another topic before I stormed into the living room and beat Harry and Liam down with my pillow. Sleeping would be impossible, considering that's basically all I had done today. I supposed I could prank call people with the phone that rarely left its charger on my bedside table, but I decided I wasn't in the mood for that.
I could hear Liam laughing at something Harry had said in the other room, and I flung myself off the bed. Harry may be living here now, but that didn't mean the flat wasn't mine anymore. I wouldn't let some curly homeless boy keep me holed up in my room. So I stalked into the living room and flopped onto the recliner. Harry and Liam sat on the couch staring at me. Liam appeared to be amused by me, while Harry had paled excessively.
"Decided to join us, Lou?" Liam teased.
"No," I said flatly. "I decided that I wanted to be able to move freely around my flat."
"Well I'm glad you found that you had the power to do so," Liam smirked.
"Shut your mouth, Payne," I hissed, making Harry sink further into the back of the couch. The curly boy sat staring at the coffee table and twiddling his thumbs. I felt a hint of guilt that I masked with a surge of pride for making him feel unwelcome.
"Harry here was telling me of how many people he's scared by acting like one of the creepy homeless people instead of the friendly one that he really is... or I guess he's not really homeless anymore."
"Good for him," I shrugged, speaking as if Harry wasn't even there. I flipped on the telly, scanning through the channels mindlessly. I was actually trying to pay attention to the quiet conversation Liam had started back up.
"So when's your birthday, Harry?"
"February 1st," he replied softly.
"Ah, so you just had it recently," Liam nodded. "Mine's coming up in August. August 29th to be exact."
"I'd say happy early birthday... but considering it's still like five months away, I'll wait." Harry chuckled quietly.
"If you don't mind me asking, how long have you not had a place to stay?" Liam said suddenly.
"Oh," Harry sounded surprised. "Uh... a little over a month."
I raised my eyebrows. Homeless for a month. I had to admit, the boy had survival skills.
"You were homeless on your birthday, then?" Liam asked in an apologetic tone.
"It wasn't too terrible... I actually hadn't even realized it was my birthday until I saw the date on a newspaper," Harry almost sounded as if he was soothing Liam.
"Can you guys keep it down, I'm trying to watch the telly here," I snapped.
"Louis. It's on mute. And since when do you watch the jewelry channel?" Liam said in exasperation.
"Well Liam, I was trying to keep it a secret, but since you like ruining things, I was going to get you that blue sapphire necklace there," I rolled my eyes, flipping the telly back off.
