5. Too Little Too Late

Lily's P.O.V

We had just pulled up outside of my dads appartment. After ten minutes of efortless talking with Danielle and Eleanor, I could honestly say, these to girls were the nicest people I had ever met, apart from Jasmine of course. The boys had left us to go to the back of the bus to play video games, so we had the privacy to talk. I was just about to start telling Eleanor what had happened to me today when we arrived at my dads place. I stood up to open the door but Danielle stopped me before I could. She was looking out of the blacked out window with a frown on her face. 

"What's up Dani?" Eleanor asked her, getting up from her spot on the couch to look out the window with Danielle.

"Em, Lil? Could you come here a minute?" Danielle asked me with a worried expression.

I walked over to her spot by the window and stared out of it. I couldnt see anything.

"Do you know that man standing outside of your dads appartment?" Danielle asked me.

"I squinted my eyes, trying to get a better look, and after a few seconds I could finally make out the shape in the darkness. Jason.

I gasped to myself and gulped. Danielle must have realised by my reaction who the man was and pulled me towards her into a hug. "You don't have to go out there if you don't want to." Danielle said to me. "Eleanor and I could go in and get your clothes instead." 

I shook my head, knowing I would have to face Jason sooner or later, I would have chosen later if I could but the oppurtunity was here and the quicker I done it the quicker I could heal. 

Rip the band aid of Lily. Just do it.

I stood up and smiled reassuringly at Danielle. "It's fine. I can do this. I need to do this." I didnt know whether I was reassuring Danielle that I would be okay or wheter I was trying to give myself a peptalk. Either way, I knew I was going to have to go out there and face Jason.

I took a deep breath, opened the door and stepped out into the warm London air. It was a beautiful night, clear sky, full moon. Beautiful. 

I walked down the road towards Jason, my heart beating twice as fast as it normally did. I stopped when I was in front of him. He was sitting on the ground, his head resting against the door of the building. His head was hanging and he had a beer bottle in his hand. Drunk probably. When he looked up and saw it was me, he instantly stood up, threw the bottle down with a clatter and grabbed my hands.

"Oh god, Lily. What happened? Why did you leave?" He started. I was about to answer but he started talking again. "Was it because of what happened on my bachelor night? Cause if it was, you  know I regret it, you know I'm sorry. Please come home Lily, please." his breath stunk of alcohol and I had to try hard not to gag with the stench of it. Jason wasn't a stranger to alcohol but he never got drunk. Never. 

I could feel myself tearing up at the sight of him and new that if Danielle or Eleanor were beside me they would have slapped him but I couldnt bring myself to do it. I tore my hands away from his and put them behind my back but he just grabbed onto my arms instead.
