                                            You should’ve said No,

                                         You should’ve gone home

You should’ve thought twice ‘fore you let it all go,

Should’ve known the word, that what you did with her

                                                Would get back to me…

Lily's P.O.V

I was sitting in a soft white chair, staring at my flawless face -courtesy of my best friend Jasmine- in a spotlessly clean mirror. My skin was clear and pale, with just a hint of pink blush on my cheek bones and my lips were the colour of strawberry icing. My dark brown eyes were outlined in black eyeliner and I had the "smokey eye" look in light brown shades. There were tears in my eyes. Were they happy tears?

Of course they are, don't be silly.

Why would I be unhappy on my wedding day? I was marrying a beautiful man, who was funny, kind and sweet to me. He made me breakfast, bought me flowers, carried me to bed when I fell asleep on the couch, he loved me.

He obviously didn’t love you enough or else he wouldn't have slept with that slutty redhead from Manchester.

Shut up! I tell myself before realising that having a conversation with yourself in your head is a really bad sign. I look up at my oldest and most beautiful friend, Jasmine, who's busy tweaking my hair, trying to make it look perfect for my one and only big day.

This isn't your big day. He doesn't love you and you don't love him, get out before it's too late.

"I can't do this." I whisper to myself, barely having the courage to say it out loud but doing it anyway.

"What did you say honey?" Jasmine asks me in her usual cheery voice, oblivious to what I was about to do.

I scrape my chair back; start pulling pins out of my long dark hair that had just been tied up into a complicated bun. It took hours to do but only seconds to destroy, weird huh? I ran over to the coat stand and grab my white cashmere cardigan which had pearl buttons running up the right side of it. I pulled it on whilst scanning the room, trying to locate my purse.

"Lil? What are you doing?" Jasmine asks me, starting to get worried. "Lily you’re really freaking me out."

I turn to face Jasmine, my purse sitting under my arm. With my free hands, I yank of my engagement ring, a beautiful silver band with a sapphire stone, and throw it at Jasmine who catches it without hesitation.

"You know I really hate sapphires?" I ask her but she's just staring at me as if I've gone completely insane, which was understandable.

"So you're leaving Jason alone at the alter because you don't like sapphires?" she asks me, in a serious voice.

"Don't be stupid, I'm leaving him because he's a slime ball who cheated on me on his bachelor night." I tell her, keeping calm. Even though Jasmine was my bestest friend in the whole world and we told each other everything, I had kept this from her, I never told her, never had the courage to tell her, because if I did, it would mean it was true.
