"Did you have a good life?" "Did they treat you right?" "Did you know? That I was looking for you?"
It was hard, looking at her without feeling something in my chest. It was hard, to speak without my voice trembling. It was hard to hold the tears, but I stopped trying. And she did too. We both cried and hugged until it hurt. After all, we hadn't seen each other in a lifetime. We thought we were alone. We were not.
We didn't know. We didn't know we had a twin sibling. We were separated at birth, how? That's a story for another time. The important thing here is how we found each other again. Or how they found her for me, without me even knowing what was going on.
Some of the perks of being famous I guess. Things go viral all the time, it was not the first time the fans said someone looked like me. But this time it was different, everyone could swear this unknown girl was related to me in some way and they had a valid reason. She was my exact reflection, she was me.
Not going to lie, I thought it was a joke at the beginning. It couldn't be possible. I thought she wasn't real. Until she contacted me, asking me to tell my fans to stop. She wanted to leave her house peacefully, without having to worry about random people coming up and taking her picture.

I arrived at the place we were meeting early, but she arrived earlier. She was already waiting when I reached the table. It was an odd sensation seeing yourself doing something strange in a different body. She turned to grab her cup of tea when she spotted me. We stared into each other's eyes for a moment or maybe an hour and we knew, we knew we were more than just looking alike people.
"Did they ever tell you? That you had a sister?" She gulped, trying to hide the fact she was almost crying. "Sorta, but never explained what really happened. I thought you had died... or someone took you away. And you?" "I knew I had other parents, never thought there was a whole family waiting for my return" She tired to smile, I couldn't. It hurt too much. "What happens now?" "Well, brother. We can ignore it and continue with our lives-" "I don't think I can do that" I interrupted her. "Me neither to be honest. But I'm scared"
I sighed and grabbed her hand across the table. It was the first time touching her, it felt like I could feel it too. Maybe, indeed, twins had a special bond. "I am too, but we have each other now" She smiled for the first time that evening. "You don't know how much I needed that. You. My twin"
