Tish!

Well, those cafeterias don't sound worth it at all! I'm glad that Conor is okay, and I promise not to tell my mom about it until Dad gets home. Man. I can't believe hunters are so stupid. Um, if you're going to eat out, make sure Conor knows you're not going to rush him. He has a bad habit of picking the first thing on the menu so he doesn't have to read it all. And I know his reading is better than it was, but you know how he gets. He doesn't like to hold people up. Mom says it's because wolves can't show weakness and he's not human enough to realize that sometimes, we need to show weakness to get help. But I don't think that's it. I think that Conor wants to be human so badly that sometimes he hides parts of himself that just aren't. It would be strange for a person in their twenties to not know how to read well. Or who the president is. Or lots of things. Mom and Dad tried not to overwhelm him with information, but at least here he knew he could ask questions. I bet there he feels like he can't.

Anyway, Aidan mentioned that you two are maybe dating, so I thought I'd tell you at least something helpful about Conor. I probably know him the best. I remember the first time Conor tried jello. Mom got green, I think; we were making jello eggs for an Easter party and Conor couldn't get over the fact that you could see through them, but you could still hold them in your hand and eat them. We laughed about that forever; Mom made jello all the time that summer because Conor loved it. He doesn't like candy and can't eat chocolate; he's weird, but at least he never ate my Halloween candy, unlike my dad.

We went into town today, mostly to get books and some groceries. The charter school I'm going to is odd, but honestly, I'm doing way better with my classes. The pack are better teachers than the ones at school. Not that I think my teachers were bad. But here, Katie and I are the only students. If I don't understand something, Casey will always find a different way to explain it. And Brian can always come up with a funny sentence to help with my vocabulary. I still think he wants us to read too many books. Do you think a book a week is reasonable? I just don't want that many quizzes.

I miss you and Conor and my dad. Is there any way you guys will come home sooner than full moon? It seems so far away.

Love,

Susie Lynn
