14. Isn't that Charlie?

Naomi's P.O.V

It has been a week since Charlie broke up with me. Leo and Charlie have officially broken up and it is all over the internet. Apparently No-one ships Neo.

I miss Charlie. He has moved on, to some girl he met at the party. Lily, her name was. It is hard to act like I don't care because Leo hurts whenever I talk about Charlie; I can tell.

I am lying on my bed, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns. This show tends to get me a bit annoyed.

"Oh really, Ted?" I yell at the TV. "It is so obvious Robin likes you."

My phone starts to ring and I moan grumpily, but shuffle over to where my phone was thrown on the floor. It is Charlie.

I decline the call, so he sends a message.

we need 2 tlk.

I press delete, and continue to watch the TV, until my phone beeps again.

I silence my phone and throw it back on the carpet, turning back to the TV.

"Ted, really? You don't say those words on the first date. Who says 'I think I'm in love with you' on the first date." I grumble, changing the channel.

Sooo bored. My parents are out so I call Leo and Tilly and ask if they want to double date at the cinema. They both agree and we agree to meet there in an hour.

I dress in shorts and a vest top with headphones on it. Pulling on my shoes, I grab money for the bus and hop on, locking the front door. When we have all arrived, there is a an argument as to what film we are watching.

"We are watching the fault in our stars. I am not even gonna argue," I state.

"Noooo!" Tilly moans. "I wanted to see walking on sunshine!"

"Let's watch the Mrs Brown's Boys one," Tilly's boyfriend says.

"We're underage," I say.

"Come on, Naoms," Tilly says. "Live a little."

We walk into the cinema and pay for the tickets, although I am reluctant to.

"We can watch the film you wanted if you want," Leo whispers in my ear. "I can't pass as fifteen."

"Tilly," I say. "None of us look fifteen, apart from..."

"Jared," Tilly's boyfriend says.

"Jared. Leo is thirteen. We are fourteen."

"Shut up," Tilly says irritably.

I shut up. The teenager at the desk gives Tilly the ticket straight away, though me and Leo can't fool him.

"You two are underage," he says. "Go watch something else."

We slope away, secretly pleased. Leo agrees with me that we should definitely watch the fault in our stars. I'm not sure he would agree if he knew what it was.

Two scenes in, I start crying. By the end, I have used up five packets of tissues and Leo is looking seriously alarmed, although I can see his face is wet.

I keep thinking about Charlie. I know I am wasting time being with Leo; I don't love him, at least not in the way he wants me to. What if Charlie was to die suddenly, like Gus did, and we were never together?

I wipe my eyes and stand up.

"I-I'm sorry Leo," I say, still crying. "It's just r-really sad!"

He smiles faintly and take a my hand. We walk out of the cinema and bump into a wisp of a girl who looks a little like...

"Teri?" I say, shocked. She turns around, and I can see her cheekbones through her skin.

"Hi, Naomi," she replies. "Look, I have to go."

"Wait, Teri," I say, grabbing her wrist. She holds her all sleeve over her arm.

"What?" I say.

"Nothing," Teri mumbles.

"Teri, what have you done to yourself?" I ask, staring at her abnormally skinny arms and legs.

"What are you talking about? I can't do this Naomi. Just leave it." she replies.

"Are you anorexic?" I ask suddenly. She turns red.

"I said, leave it," Teri says, snatching her arm away and sloping off.

"Was that Teri?" Leo frowns.

"Yeah. We better look out for the others. Tilly is not gonna like this."

They emerge from the cinema after ten minutes, laughing hysterically.

"Hey guys," I say. "We watched the fault in our stars."

"That's nice," Jared says, and they burst into laughter again.

I shoot Leo a quizzical look, and he looks just as confused.

"Keep up, guys," Tilly grumbles, and grabs Jared's arm.

We walk just behind them towards Pizza Hut where we agreed to have dinner.

"Hi," says a waitress. "Do you have a reservation?"

"No," Jared replies, grinning lazily. "We want a table for four please."

"Of course," the waitress says. "Right this way sir."

We follow her to a table. I sit next to Leo and being the kid I am, I have picked up the children's activity booklets. Tilly tuts but Leo grabs one and starts attempting the word search.

"How the hell are five-year-olds meant to do this?" Leo complains, screwing his booklet into a ball and throwing it across the room. It hits a boy on the head and Leo swears and hides under the table, pulling me under as well.

The boy looks across and the blonde girl sat next to him does too.

"Hey," Tilly says. "Isn't that Charlie?"
