(The pictures are some visuals for what I was kind of thinking their outfits looked like.)
Adrien already knows his way to the Dupain-Cheng's bakery by heart because of his frequent visits to Marinette's balcony as Chat.
With her house in sight, he finds an alley to drop into and transform back to his normal self.
"Plagg, claws in." He whispers. Nobody needs to see Chat Noir transform into a famous suit-clad model.
He walks the rest of the way to the bakery's front door and opens it with a ding of the shop keeper's bell. He's greeted by his date's mom, Sabine, "Hi, Adrien! You're looking especially dapper today."He chuckles, "Thank you, Mrs. Cheng. I might have overdone it a little bit for movie night, though."
"No such thing," She says with a
wink, "Marinette will be down before too long, she's just running late, I guess."Adrien looks at his watch, "Actually, I'm running early. I can wait."
"Well, you may head upstairs and sit in the living room while you do so."
Sabine points out the stairs to the upper level, and Adrien thanks her for the hospitality.
Once he gets up, he fights the urge to excessively check his reflection in the window next to him.
'Okay,' He resolves, 'Just once.'
He quickly fluffs his hair and checks to make sure there's nothing in his teeth. Just when he's examining his pearly-whites, he hears, "Mom! Do you know what I did with my debit card?"Through the reflection, Adrien spots the trapdoor to upstairs open, and a red-clad figure step down.
"I could've sworn it was-" Marinette stops mid-sentence when she sees the boy who is definitely not her mother. Adrien stops mid-thought when he looks back at her.
Both of their jaws go slack at the sight of the other.
"Holy shit," Adrien mutters under his breath. He had never seen Marinette with her hair down before, or in a dress, or looking as beautiful as she did while standing there in front of him. Had he ever seen her wear red before? It looks amazing on her."You, sir, clean up very nicely." The girl says after regaining her train of thought. She's trying her best not to implode, but it's hard not to, even after the million pep talks from herself and Tikki. Standing in front of her is Adrien dressed in jeans and a suit jacket, complete with a green pocket square. His hair is extra fluffy today and, she has to say, it looks adorable on him.
"So I've been told," he grins, "You don't have to worry about your debit card right now, I've got tonight covered.""Oh, well that's nice, but I was the one that asked you, so it's only proper th-"
"Marinette," Gosh, her name sounds so good in his mouth. "Seriously, I want to."
She bites her lip, "If you insist."
They realize almost simultaneously that they've been standing in the same place gawking at each other the whole time. Adrien offers his hand to her because walking down those stairs in heels is no joke.
"So, Ms. Dupain-Cheng," he says, linking arms with his date, "I have no idea how to get to the cinema from here."
Marinette stifles a laugh, "Well, Mr. Agreste, luckily I am an expert at getting to places from my house." They both break out into giggles as they leave the bakery and hold on just a little tighter to each other.
