If you love me, won't you let me know.

I sit in my office, tapping my pen against the side of my head as I stare at the large pile of written assignments. I let out a sigh as I look at the never-ending stack and reach for my water bottle, taking a sip and rubbing my temple before moving my glasses back onto my face. I take my time and go through them, checking here and there and writing down comments and recommendations in my red pen.

Once I get through a handful of them, I reach for my large leather tote and stuff them inside, promising myself that I'll finish the marking later tonight before bed. I stand up and straighten out my tight black dress, clearing it from any wrinkles. I walk over to my coat hanger, my heels clicking against the tile. I reach for the light trench coat and shrug it on before grabbing my tote, keys and water bottle. I head out of my office, locking the door behind me and leave the school, getting to my SUV and driving downtown to pick up some dinner. I pull into the grocery store parking lot and slide off the jacket, realizing that it's way too hot to wear it.

I hop out of the vehicle and slam the door, locking the SUV behind me as I walk into the grocery store. I grab a small cart and decided to do a little grocery haul rather than getting food strictly for dinner. I walk through the aisles, tossing some veggies and fruit into the cart. I decide to head over to the bakery and I look through the section of freshly baked goods. I reach for a loaf of bread, some bagels and scan the display of treats. I decide to get the boys a treat for when I see them tomorrow and smile at the thought. I set the cupcakes in the cart and continue my journey through the grocery store.

I continue my grocery haul and finally I'm at the cash register paying for my food. Once everything is paid for, I head off to my car, unlocking it and setting the bags on the ground, turning on my heels to push the cart over to the shelter. My mind wanders off and before I know it, I slam into someone. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I call out, my eyes widening as I realize I just hit someone with my cart. "My mind is everywhere, holy crap." I look up to the man standing in front of me and he chuckles, giving me a smirk.

"No problem, it happens to the best of us." I give him an accepting look and gently nod. "Scott, Scott Knight. It's a pleasure to meet you." He extends his hand to me and I nod, accepting it and giving him a small smile.

"Alexis Trager, nice to meet you too." I clear my throat and give him a slightly worried look, "I really hope I didn't hurt you. God, I'm so clumsy."

The brunette chuckles, shaking his head and giving me a look. "No scratches here!" he raises his arms playfully, "Hey, you're a teacher at Charming High right?" he asks me, and I nod, giving him a confused look, not knowing where he got this information.

"Why do you ask?" I raise my eyebrow, waiting for his response, feeling somewhat creeped out by his question.

"I sound like a creep... I'm a new teacher there, history for grade 12. I guess you weren't there when they did the welcome party." He teases me, and I laugh, remembering that I was gone the day they had a welcome party for a new staff member.

"Yeah, family stuff. My brain is also a scrambled mess most of the time, so I never quite remember what's happening." I admit, "I hope you're enjoying the position so far. I know it can start off kind of lonely."

Scott nods, "Yeah, I feel like it's a pretty tight knit group of people and is hard to get into the group."

I chuckle, "Well hey, you're always welcomed to have lunch with me and my friend. Here's my number." I pull out a sticky note from my bag and write it down, handing it to him. "I wish I could stay and chat, but I need to get going, my stomach is hating me right now." I let out a laugh and he nods, giving me a smile. "I'll see you around, and feel free to shoot me a message if you need anything! We'll have lunch sometime next week." I grin at him.
