Better This Way

After breakfast. I went downstairs to grab my things and head back home. My aunt should be very worried. I told her I was here but she worried a lot anyway. Especially after the incident with my Dad.
As I walked up the steps Audra was on the porch with Bill. She was yelling at him and he kept shaking his head. She put her head in her hands and they hugged. Now they were kissing. Audra reached her bike and started riding off. Bill went to Silver and I walked past him. "Hey wait. B-buh-bev, are you just walking? I can g-give you a r-ride."
        "Thanks, Bill. You don't need to worry. I can walk." I didn't want to push things with Audra. "Alright, probably for the best..." What's that supposed to mean? He pedaled off and I watched him as he went. His arms firmly gripping the handle bars. It almost seems like when he was gripping my hips last night... Beverly stop! No more thoughts of that!
I began walking home and letting my thoughts wonder yet again, even after stopping myself. Bill still thinks of you as a friend. Last night was just some stupid game. But we wanted to play again when everyone was asleep... maybe he just missed Audra. Did he do things like that with Audra. Huskily saying how amazing her hair was and how he loved the smell of her. Taking a minute to breathe in around her neck causing her to shudder from pure pleasure of being wanted... that's what he did with me. Maybe it was just me?
I reached my house and helped my Aunt with the last bit of unpacking. I went to bed thinking about Bill. It's always about Bill. Never really anything else. He makes all the bad things in my life go away. The clown, my dad, everything.
I woke up to my Aunt knocking on the door. "Beverly! A phone call from a Stanley Uris? Is this a nice boy?" I slowly got up and said good morning. Dragging my feet to the phone. I groggily answered, "Hello?"
"Hey Beverly. Sorry for calling at 11." 11! Then why am I so tired! "Just the Losers want to meet up at the quarry around 12. Are you in?" I looked at my Aunt about to ask but she just nodded. "Yeah I'll be there. Just gotta wake up."
"Great! See you soon."
"Bye."
  I trudged over to the bathroom and took a bath. Soaking in it for about 30 minutes before finally getting dressed. "I'm heading out soon!" I called to my Aunt. She just replied with 'be safe.' And I went out the door.
       On my walk to the quarry I saw Bill holding Audra at a bridge. I'm guessing that's the bridge where everyone kisses. He saw me and waved but Audra pulled him and started angrily talking to him, he just nodded and hugged her.
       Arriving at the quarry, Ben saw me and waved excitedly. Running over to hug me. "Oh! Wow. Hi Ben!" Not that hugging the Losers is strange. But everyone knows his feelings for me.
         Bill and Audra arrive. Bill was wearing a swimsuit and so was Audra. It showed a lot. All her curves and her cleavage was way out there. Should I start wearing a swimsuit? That's when the Losers yelled at Bill because hey always wear their underwear. Damn right! I shouldn't change for him! Or should I... so confusing!
        Bill ignored them and ran off the cliff with Audra. I stripped down as everyone except Ben looked away. As much as they've already seen me, it's still polite and I appreciate it. Except Ben. Creep.
        I hop on Mike's back as he gives me a piggyback ride. What I didn't expect was for him to run straight of the cliff. I've done it dozens of times but never like this. I screamed all the way down and emerging laughing with Mike.
       Next came Richie and Eddie but Richie wouldn't let Eddie come up for air at first. Usual Trashmouth. Pushing him away so Eddie could come up, he thanked me and Richie pouted. "You're no fun Beverly!" Ben did a cannonball and Stanley even did a single flip. We all applauded him as he never tries to do anything different on the jump.
        Bill lifted Audra up and she giggled, he threw her and she splashed into the water. But the only thing I could think about is lifting me against the wall. Instead of throwing me, he gently pushed me up on the wall. Shouldn't say gently... he was quite rough.
        I sank in the water as my blush was rising. Eddie then wrapped his arms around me. Holding my arms down as Richie and Mike splashed water at me. When they stopped I just wiped the water out of my face. "You've got to joking! I'm going to get you both!" Grabbing mud from where I was standing. I threw it at Richie, knowing it would upset Eddie. Then I turned to Eddie who Mike was holding. Good, someone was on my side! I started splashing him heavily. "I think the winner is clear!" I hear Stanley yell.
         We continued messing around in the water. Richie kept tricking Eddie into thinking a fish was after him. Ben and Stanley were looking for treasure and Mike and I were discussing his farm life.
         Then, Bill was saying goodbye to Audra and she left. He was beginning to dry off. I climbed out of the water and walked over to him. "Hey Bill." He looked at me but went back to drying off. "Oh. Uh. Hi." Strange. "I was wondering if you wanted to hangout tomorrow. Like old times." I laughed a bit but he kept a straight face. "Yeah, uh. That would be fun. But, I can't really do that."
"Oh. Yeah no problem. Maybe another day."
"No, t-t-tomorrow would be fine. J-juh-just. You. Audra d-d-doesn't really want me hanging out w-wuh-with you. I... I'm s-sorry. I'm not even supposed to be t-t-talking to you now. But y-y-you need a reas-s-son." He can't be serious. Any second now he'll start laughing and tell me it was just a joke.
        That moment never happened. We stood awkwardly for what felt like forever but it was just a second. "No. No. You're right. I'm sorry." The anger began building up in my chest. "But, Bill! I hope you have fun! With her and... and... whatever you two do! Hope what we did last night was fun. After all I am just the school slut, right?" Tears began streaming down my cheeks. I couldn't take this. "Bev. It's n-n-not like that. Y-y-you aren't... look. It's just b-buh-better this way." And with that, Bill got on his bike and pedaled off.
       Here I stood. A Broken Hearted Slut. But you're right, Bill. It's 'Better' this way.
