PLEASE READ: An update? On one of my Billverly stories? Wow, isn't that something. Sorry guys, this is not a return to the book or anything like that, I just wanted to give you something as the requests for me to continue were eating away at my conscious. Well, hope you enjoy even though it may be weirdly written as i'm kind of out of touch.
Beverly...
THUD
Beverly...
THUD
BEVERLY!
A fist collided with the tree a third time, breaking off some bark and leaving a trace of blood against it. Bill raised his hand to his face and saw the red stream trickling down his forearm.
What are you doing to yourself, Bill? He thought as his hand already started to turn purple around the open wounds on his knuckes. He dropped to his knees and leaned his head against the tree.
All he wanted was Beverly back but Richie's words were cutting into his soul with every passing second. She'd run to me anyway.
Bill hit his head against the tree and fell back onto the dirt, staring at the empty sky. What am I going to do?
Closing his eyes, he tried to get the anger to leave him but he couldn't muster the strength to let go. Richie would have to let go.
No.
Richie would have to go.
He clutched his head as if the thoughts were bringing him pain. "What are you doing to me, Bev!" He yelled out in anguish. Punching the dirt he let out another yell, one of pure frustration at himself.
"You're l-l-losing it, Bill." He felt tears form in his eyes. "I just need you b-back..."
Richie fixed his glasses as he sat on his bike outside Beverly's house. There had to be a way to free her. He just had to figure it out, before Bill.
He gripped the handle bars and began pedaling. He was going to need help and he knew exactly who to go to.
As soon as he reached Eddie's house, he dumped his bike in the yard and beat his fist against the door. It opened after a few seconds and there stood Eddie with messy hair and pajamas. "It's 7am on a Saturday, Richie. What do you want?"
"Beverly's dad is back." Richie's voice cracked as he spoke, the full realization that this shouldn't be about who gets Beverly hitting him. Beverly's safety was on the line.
Eddie stood shocked and he hesitated to respond before he rubbed the back of his head. "Let me get dressed." And he shut the door.
Richie sat on his steps, looking out at the road as cars passed. So much time being wasted here. Beverly could be in unimaginable pain at the moment and none of us would even know.
His hands were raised to his head and he frantically scratched away like a lunatic. The toxic thoughts wouldn't leave and he just wanted to crack his skull and lose them. Then his mind drifted to Bill.
He could be there right now, freeing her. Being with HER. Beverly. Richie jumped up and beat against Eddie's door again. After a minute it opened and Eddie stepped out. "Would you calm the fuck down, my mom is still sleeping." Eddie spat as he grabbed his bike.
"Well sorry, princess. I didn't realize we'd be entering a decade before you got dressed." He quickly got his bike up too and the two boys rode off together.
When they got to Beverly's house, Bill was already standing on the porch, facing them. "Leave, I've got this handled." Bill commanded. Richie tossed his bike and stomped up to get close to Bill.
"Or what, you'll hit me again?" Bill's eyes flickered with something wicked in them and it scared Richie, forcing him to take a step back from the boy. Just now did Richie really take in his appearance.
Bill's hair was messy, standing up in all areas and his shirt was muddy and torn. Bill's right hand was split open with dried blood on it and his jeans hard dirt on them too. "What the fuck happened to you? Did you sleep in the woods?" He laughed a little to cover up his actual worry.
"Shut the fuck up." Bill's voice came out deep and stern. Eddie stared in fear from behind Richie. Something was off about Bill. He didn't seem well.
"I told you I'd get her out. I plan on doing that, no matter the c-c-cost." Bill turned back towards the door and reached up to knock before Richie grabbed his shoulder. "And I told you, I'd free her."
Like a flash, Bill turned around and shoved Richie to the ground. "Back the fuck off. You don't want to be a part of this. Trust me. Now go." He knocked on the door and his left hand went behind this back to his shirt. Something was tucked into his waistband and Richie figured it out almost immediately. "Bill... what the fuck are you doing? Bill! Stop!" The door opened and there stood Beverly's dad with a beer in his hand.
Rubbing his eyes, he squinted at the 3 kids on his porch. "And what the hell are you doing here?"
Bill took a step closer to the drunk. "Let Beverly come out to us and we'll leave right now." He voice didn't waiver in the slightest. He was determined. But Bev's dad didn't pick up on the distorted look in his eyes. He didn't see that Bill's mind was scrambled now that Beverly was locked up with him.
"Bill! Please don't!" Eddie yelled out.
Richie got up and walked behind Bill, grabbing his hand which was so close to his dad's gun.
"Look, I don't know what's going on here. But you lot better get off my property before someone gets hurt, or worse." He smirked at the end and just took a sip from his can.
Bill ripped his arm from Richie's and grabbed the gun from his pants, raising it to the drunk's face.
"And just who do you think is getting hurt?"
